For anyone considering a Mossberg Night Train... I ventured off to Cabelas the other day to handle one because I was seriously considering one. Now I realize Mossberg is considered low end by some... But f**k me, that thing feels and looks cheap in person. I have to admit it looks badass in pictures, and that is what attracted me to it to begin with but it just feels sooooo cheap. I'm sure it may be great on the range but i cannot get over the feel. The bolt felt so sloppy in its home, it was like throwing a hotdog down the hallway, felt really front heavy, the muzzle looked like plastic (although it probably isn't), and the scope. So all in all, anyone considering it... I'd recommend against it based on feel alone.

If you like the camp design not the black design, the savages model 10 PC has a far superior finish/ shooting ability than the ####e train. I have one I'm trying to get move on to a nice new owner (savage). Avoid the ####e train, it's a one stop train back to the store you bought it from!

Night Train, a fortified wine to take the edge off sleeping under a bridge.

I actually bought the nightrain 2 version because I got it for $600, I didn't want to spend twice that on a savage or a remington. I love how everyone is so quick to judge it and bad mouth it having never shot it. For the money it was a great deal, the scope is great for the money and so far the gun is more accurate than I thought. But I guess there are a lot of gun snobs out there that don't want to give it a shot, if you see the reviews from people that ACTUALLY OWN it, they love it.:HR:

I'm glad you changed your mind, I hate those things haha. At work I've had a few customers buy them because it looks so "bada$$" then they realize it's garbage and want to upgrade to a remington or savage.

Just read a review on the night train II. The review found that this 'tackdriver' (his word not mine) requires match grade ammo to shoot sub MOA. That doesn't meet my definition of tackdriver.

My Remington 700 sps-v shoots sub MOA with soft points. I would never buy this thing. More because of the optics than any thing. I bet it doesn't track worth #### for that price. You get what you pay for with scopes. Night train is built to look cool for people who don't wanna shoot well. Also, the bipod looks cheap cheap cheap too.

Ive herd good and bad things about it. You really cant expect high end tho. Like serious, its a good looking rifle with alot of goodies that comes with it. An awesome plinker, but if your a serious shooter then get a serious rifle. Lol. Cabelas had them on for pretty cheap and i was tempted to buy one, it had good reviews on there site. But i decided to invest in something more light weight. I hate carrying 10lbs rifles hunting. But it did look like a fun range, espicialy if u bring someone who needs to borrow a gun.

my friend bought a nighttrain2. a few of us tried talking him out of it and i think the bipod is actually the highest quality item on the rifle. it came with a harris ultralight. this was about a year ago not sure if they may have gone to a different supplier on the newer models.

and damn has anyone ever been beside or just behind one of these things when they go off? we make him take off the muzzle brake when he comes out with us, they are annoyingly loud.

The bipod kinda looked like plastic on the one I saw. Don't Harris ultralights have springs? This one didn't.

I think you have a junktrain 1. I picked up a NT2 when Cabelas had them on sale. I am a little disapointed with the qualitly of the stock mostly, when I load up a new round it is a little frustrating seeing the whole action rotate and flex. The bipod is definately a good quality harris on the NT2's.

I was pulling in around 4" groups @ 100 yards with federal 180gr SP and it is my first bigger caliber rifle so I am actually pretty pleased with the accuracy. With my savage 22mag I run about 1-1.5" groups at 100yds. Just not to shooting the big cannon yet!

I think it will really benfit from a stock bedding, especially to get rid of the flex.

Boyd's does sell wood stock for the 100ATR action, the problem is finding a trigger guard and of course you lose the epic mall sniper/ninja look!
