UPDATED with range PICS NEA vs Norq review/testing

That is the first I have heard of that...my understanding is that they came away from Germany with orders for 5000 rifles.

Who was doing the laughing, and why?

.. We stopped taking orders 1/2 way through IWA. The only ones laughing in Germany were us. Not just with oir rifles, but several major contracts were landed with many of our other products. As usual the BS train has made a new stop. ;)

Some major procedures and systems have been put in place to get our house in order. We've had a couple bumps in the road getting here, but we haven't repeated a mistake, and we've fixed those we made. In or out of our control. But although most that have reported an issue have voiced so right here, the number of problems we have had is very small in the total number of units sold.

We've come a long way, we have a way to go before we're 100% happy. But we've taken a lot of steps to kick it up a notch, and that will become apparent shortly. Even though the vast majority of our users have been nothing but pleased, we'll strive to continually improve and grow. There's a lot of changes happening and yet to come. But all will be to get to that end goal.

this good to hear. Is it safe to assume that if i order a 10.5" nea rifle from one of your dealers that when i open the box i will be able to strip the gun, not see anything out of the norm, take it to the range with good mags and ammo and have fun!?

haha... I went away to actually go shoot stuff, and come back to this...

more people with "he said she said" fecal matter to sling, soft screws, yeah they only ever made 50 guns, EVER, and 25 dont work, blah blah blah and apparently the germans are laughing at them too, even though they just bough a butt load of guns.

when NEA put out there first run rifles, they had issues, people complained, to the max, NEA obviously got the message, these 2nd gen rifles are superb.

anyways, there is the range report, long story short, 480 rounds down the nea pipe in ONE day, zero issues, and I was surprised to find it more accurate then a 14.5" barrel... even if it was only a norinco...

performed absolutely perfectly

and if NEA is listening

1. seriously, anything nice and ergonomic, anything but the standard m4 grip would add a huge amount of out of the box value in my opinion. not many are offered like that, i think its a nice distinction, I have no idea if those parts are available en masse, but yeah take it for what its worth i guess. every time someone sells an ar mag pull makes 25$

2. Relax thats really all I would change on my PDW, until you release that new stock.

+1...first thing I have done with every AR and my XCR was replace the grip.

So how do you tell a 1st gen NEA from a 2nd gen NEA?

Do they offer a review and over haul of all first gen NEA15's, like a recall, or is it still just a hit or miss process. Seriously.

It's mil-spec vs. barn-spec, so are you really that surprised? ;) Thanks for the range report - glad you're enjoying your PDW. Are you just shooting it with the stock A2 bird cage?

yup, shot it stock today, ammo in the mag, mag in the gun. still waiting on magpull grip, Ill likely stick with teh bird cage since its the lightest.

Try the PWS CQB. Not near as deafening for those shooting near you. ;)

HAHA the guys I shot with today were quite nice about it, I let them shoot it, and its much louder when your not directly behind the barrel.

both my neighbors today were awesome, both shot the NEA and let me shoot their lever action and ar15/10

haha this thing needs a silencer, not a muzzle break, should be mandatory safety equipment to shoot this thing at an indoor range.

The CQB isn't so much a muzzle break as it is a compensator with the added benefit of throwing a lot of that volume downrange. The CQB was recommended for my 7" and I've never looked back...

yeah I think a couple guys run with those in my circuit, the whole ground before them puffs up if its dusty, you find it interferes when your hugging the dirt?

Not so much, but it sure balances out nicely. There's not much recoil on a 7" to begin with, but with the CQB and some of the additional modifications I've made, there's practically nothing. It's a real riot to shoot.

I wouldn't sweat the 6,000 round "service life" of the Norc barrel - you're not firing full auto, hell, you're not even shooting 30 rounds in a string. The demonstrated barrel exceeds 10,000 rounds.

Look I own one too and the damn thing works fine. I only had two minor issues. Had to tighten 4 bolts and push the trigger spring in place. 450 rounds later it still works perfectly and with no issues. I'm happy with my purchase.

easysauce, have you had your nea out for anymore range time (and if so how is it holding up)? I have been seriously considering buying the nea over the norc. I appreciate you sharing what you've found thus far and sacrificing your ammo in the name of cgn :)
