I put an Edge on a 270 after trying several other good synthetic stock on different rifles over the yrs. I had good luck with them all, but like the Edge as well. Worth the extra $ if trying to shed weight.

Best place to buy McMillans is from Rick Bin on 24HourCampfire. They ship to Canada and have vg prices.

When they say the Edge weighs 22 Oz, they are talking about the Hunters Edge pattern, which cant be used for a Sako. A Sako Hunter pattern in Edge tech, will weigh about 26-27 Oz. The Sako Classic may go less, but I prefer the hunter, so have never tried them.

X2 for Rick Bin.

I'm trying to order a A-5 from 24Hr right now, but their website is screwing with me. I don't think you can beat the price.

edit: sorted out the problem, predictably it was my own error.

Excellent stocks. Not cheap and a bit of a wait, well worth both, IMO. Light, stiff and lots of patterns to choose from. I personally like the Compact and Echols' Legend.

As others have said, Rick is a real pleasure too deal with. Great customer service. (The Legend is only available through Echols.)

I'm in the process of putting a Wildcat stock on my lightweight rifle.

Mine came in at 17.3oz. without a recoil pad or swivel studs. It does take a bit of work to get it fit to your rifle (if you're capable of that sort of stuff)

Looking at the site ( 24 hr campfire ) and the rifle I need stocked is not listed. Do they inlet to order from factory specs ? Does a person have t send in the action ?

For the $400 plus do you get the inletting for rifles not listed ?

What rifle do you need stocked?

Go to McMillans site and check there. Or just call McMillan and ask them; you can stay on the phone and order it direct if you want.

I just got off the phone with Rick Bin, he's a great guy to talk to and likes his hunting as much as we do.

They don't list the actions on 24hr. They only list the stock patterns. Most patterns can be used with different actions.

As an example, the Sako Hunter pattern can be used for Rem 700, Win M70, Sako AV/A7/85 actions, Tikka T3, 595/695, Vanguards/Howa, and most 700 clones.

If you let us know what rifle you have, I can likely tell you what patterns can be used.

I was thinking of putting one on a Mk V weather long action.

I just checked the 24hrcf order form, and the Weatherby stocks are listed near the bottom, after Winchester.

If you are looking for a different pattern than the wby style, contact Ryan Melancon to see if any others can be used. He is their production manager and good guy to talk with.
