Magpul PRS on LMT308MWSF

Yup it's sacrilge. 16" is the shortest I would go for 308. But I like accuracy with 308 so for me 20" to 24" is right for 308. That being said I understand why the Brits went with 16". It makes sense for their purposes. With the SS barrel accuracy is supposed to be excellent.

Yeah, but what's 2.5"? ;) I guess the beauty of the system with the LMT is I can try out a few different barrels to see what I like best without having to buy a complete upper. Now to figure out how to get an MOE rail on the bottom of my UBR...

A monopod is going to be a bit odd to see on a 13.5" barreled rifle :p
I've always been more consistant with a bean bag than a monopod personally.

It may end up being 16"; we'll have to see. One thing for certain is that the flash hider is being replaced by a muzzle brake. A bean bag could work as well. I just thought it might be neat to pull off a monopod on a UBR stock. Like this guy did. ;)

I had thought about investing in the 13.5 inch barrel myself, but I decided that it was a really expensive way to shoot 7.62x39

i hope your going to wait it out for the new LMT308MWS that has the lighter design... I think they managed to shave a few pounds off of it..mine is a tank, but i still love it. of course the Elcan 1.5-6X doesn't help..this one has had a few changes since this pic...

so... inconsistently accurate?

I would call them sub .5 moa with the right ammo. .3 or less is the rare occurrence not something you can realistically say is a given or likely to be repeated. Then again maybe that's the shooter or the reloads.

I saw the pictures from shot show. I like the original better. They are slimmer than most as is.

There's virtually no weight to be lost on simply shaving the rails off of the forearm, it'll be a couple ounces lighter at most, definitally not pounds lighter.

If you pull the barrel, the upper is pretty light, the weight is all in the massively beefy profile of the barrel extension/barrel.

Don't think so. By the time I add the Atlas bipod, UBR, monopod, buffer and optic - I don't think it's going to matter much in the grand scheme of things. I'm ok with a tank; the heavier it is the better it'll shoot anyway. ;)

This is how I like my 308 AR rifles set up: :D Not very light. But a lot of fun.

(DPMS and Armalite both now have Magpul Miad grips with the wedge. I highly recommend this over the regular pistol grip)

DPMS LR-308 and Armalite DND AR10. I'll be scavenging the Conquest 6.5-20x 50mm scope from the DPMS to go on the LMT with a quick release mount. With the 20" barrel it should be a good match. Also the reticle is the Rapid Z 1000 so it has drop downs for 308 to 1000 yards. I can dream of a 1000 yard range, or the AR rifle becoming non restricted.

I've heard good things with the stock Hogue grip on the LMT, so I'm going to give that a whirl first.

Yup I wouldn't change the Ergo grip on the LMT. I've left mine. I was referring to rifles with the regular cheap plastic AR pistol grip.

There is a reason companies still prefer to ship rifles with the A2 grip; it's dirt cheap, and so many people have such a wide range of preferences when it comes to grips.

Why shove a $40 MIAD down someone's throat when the prefer a TD?
