Hey All,

I am a first generation hunter/weapon owner in my family. I have learned everything i know off blogs and the small group of people that have i met in sports stores.

My question is this:

Does anyone know/recomment any Ranges/Hunt clubs in the Newmarket area? (within about an hour or so away)

I remember as a young boy one of my mothers friends husband going to this place that seemed to have it all. He use to go clay shooting, sight in his rifle, use his hand guns, go fishing in a trout pond and then bring home some birds. That is exactly what i am looking for. If only a few of those were met i would be a happy guy.

Being without knowledge is a dangerous thing out in the woods and i am not that stupid to take it alone. I appreciate all of your help!!

Sharon Gun Club is in newmarket. harolds rd and Kennedy , around the davis drive and 404 area.
you can become a member but after you join you would need to find a share since all members are shareholders of the property.
if you would like to check it out go there on Saturday mornings, that's when the office is open.

Galt Sportsmans Club has all of those things. Might be a little more than an hours drive though. Not sure what other clubs can offer clays, rifle, handgun, trout fishing, pheasant, and more!

Barrie . Not many of the above clubs taking new members or/are extremely expensive. Burlington would take new member as well as Guelph. But your choice - Biggs

I live in Newmarket, but belong to Barrie Gun Club and Barrie District Hunters Anglers Conservation Club.

BGC is a shooting club ... real nice facility, lots of stuff going on and members are friendly.
BDHACC is a shooting and hunting club ... less focus on the facility, more on the hunting and conservation side of things.

Both are great clubs, reasonable price and reasonable proximity to home.

PM me for links to websites or any questions about either club.
