A cautionary tale, forget trying to get tags on line from the MNR Ontario.

On April 17th I ordered two turkey tags from MNR, one for my Son and one for me figuring they would at least arrive before May 1st as I could only get away then anyway. Apparently not, here it is May 8th and I am still waiting.

So I could go out I went to Bass Pro and bought another so to round it off I spent about $90.00. I tried to call the outdoor card centre and the line is constantly busy,go figure. I call the Aurora Ontario Office and they advised me for another $10.50 I can get duplicate tags. If I did that I'd be out $110.00, I was born on a day just not yesterday and asked for a return of the funds to my Credit Card and there was dead air and I was directed to the client service in Peterborough which is long distance. Guess what, leave a message and we will get back to you, basically go fu-k yourself we got your money too bad so sad.

Government Services at their best it seems.

further the nice lady in Aurora tried to say in was a Post Office problem. My Son lives at another address and he had not got his tag either.

Once they have your money, they consider it your problem to get what you paid for.
When you tried, they were willing to take even more of your money! Wow!
They should have issued you another, and shipped it priority mail at the very least! And at no cost.

Reverse the charges on your card? Sounds simple enough. "they didn't send them, and they want more money for "another set". I asked for my money back, they said no. I want to reverse the charges".

Unfortunately it is because it is outsourced to a foreign country. Your licenses are now issued through a private company in Tennessee. Look and you will see a few threads about it on here. After reading them contact your MPP and raise hell. I know quite a few including myself have so far.

I received my additional anterless control tag feb 20th of the next year. Season was first week of nov the previous year. They wanted me to pay the $10.50 as well. ##### enough and they waive the fee

Master Card was great but can't reverse the charges until 30 days but they seem to understand the situation.

I have contacted my MPP and will continue to raise hell. My personal information was given to the Ontario Government only, for the purpose of administering the FWCA. At no point did I authorize my information to be shared outside of Canada, where it is subject to the laws in the jurisdiction in which it is stored/collected. When I balked at dealing with MNR until this is resolved, and contacted my MPP, MNR reminded my MPP that I would be fined $100 for not filing my mandatory turkey harvest report.

I ordered turkey tag online couple weeks ago and it was here in 7 days.

Like most gov Ontario websites, their website is atrocious btw. Most user unfriendly sites I think I've even seen. My theory is they make them CRAP to keep their jobs 'cause internet can easily replace them.

I agree 100% A ten year old with a 386 could build a better website. The MNR online is a total waste of time.

22 days now and counting.

You might try this: go to the service ontario website and look around there might be the number or e-mail for complaints. I have used it for a similar situation. Other than that all I can suggest is to call them and in your best "policemans voice" suggest that you are considering filing a fraud complaint. Its a bluff but it might shake some action out of thier lazy a$$es.

I've tried that. They are probably considering a Criminal Harassment complaint against me now. :)
