I'm am going to buy a Kriss but I'm not sure which one.The restricted short barreled Kriss is closer to the original design and looks better to me but the no res. is nice because it's non res.Also the K10 model should be comming out,at least in the US by the end of summer.I'm kind of torn and looking for opinions.

The SBR Kriss is pretty much is the original design (minus the select fire option, of course). There's not a huge difference in price between the two, so I would have to say it really comes down to where you plan or would ideally like to shoot it.

Honestly, the K10 just doesn't do it for me. Even with the improvements, it just doesn't hold the same appeal (not sure how I feel about the downward-movement charging handle). Especially since it will apparently have a 25-round proprietary magazine - and that means a 5-round magazine limit. Definitely a killjoy... :bangHead:

Having owned a NR KRISS i can say that if i had the choice i'd get the restricted version of the gun if i bought one again. The KRISS is very front end heavy. Adding an 18.6" barrel makes it sit really awkwardly in your hands. IMO although you can only us it at the range the restricted would be way more fun.
 
For me I would go with the restricted version.

On what do you plan to shoot in the bush with 45acp??? Anyway I shoot a lot more in my club than in the bush.

I would be using it at the range primarily also but non restricted is just less hassle and that is what I'm trying to decide on,less hassle or the longer barrel.
 
SBR wins wins for cool factor but I had my NR version out at my buddies farm shooting plates at 130 yards. I don't find it front heavy with the grip on the front rail.

I see you have an Eotech on yours. I do as well and I've noticed that it has some play (moves backwards and forwards on the rail - not much - but it does). I'm using the ACCUCAM from GGG and I think I've tightened it up as much as I dare. Wonder is you have any suggestions other then taking off the ACCUCAM and just using the original screw supplied by Eotech.

BTW - the FS2000 is AWESOME!!!!!

I'm just using the factory mount/screw, but mine's an older 511. The only play I did notice is actually on the lower rail in the front with the grip; I've actually got a bit of back and forth play, but there doesn't seem to be any way to tighten the rail so I'm not sure if I have a lot of options there.

Yes, FS2000's are nice, too. :D
 
thanks for all the good input,I'm leaning towards the res version so that is probably what I go with.the new k10 does look fugly I wonder if they will pretty it up before the release.

not sure if this will help but I had the same issue with mounting an Aimpoint on my SKS with BC Tactical rail. In order to get rid of any play, I had to seriously overtighten the screw and every once in a while, it still came loose.

I got rid of the problem by putting a piece of bike innertube between the rail and the optic. The red dot is now rock solid and I no longer needed to overtighten the mounting screw to keep it from moving.

My short Kriss is now sporting an Eotech XPS 2-2 now, no play in the rail mount at all....

Unfortunately there's no way to tighten (at least insofar as I can see, anyway) the bottom rail on the Kriss. :( It's tolerable in any event.

Top rail is fine; how's the bottom one where you'd install a vertical grip?

It is called Tactical Crayola!

My grip seems good and firm. It's the CAA that came on it. I will check closer tomorrow.
