Colt ar15 hbar .223

thanks guys!

@ justinchow i already got that piece with the rifle. i just need a good optic

@ 2bad4u2 : forgot to tell you guys im shooting indoor ONLY @ 50 yards max : how much i can expect to pay for a colt 4x scope or the falcon 1.5x-5x you were talking about?

Just picked up a millet dms, it's pretty slick

Shooting that rifle at 50yds or less is like buying a greyhound to keep in your apartment. That rifle likes to breath. You need a little dog, get a CQB, but keep your HBAR as is, and start the hoarding process like the rest of us

can you guys suggest me a good optic not so expensive to mount on my fixed carry handle?

im shooting indoor 50 yards maximum.

i dont know s**t about optics..

If you ask me, you're going the wrong way here. Your looking to do expensive mods to a rifle that has a greater value stock than modified. By the time you're done spending money, you've spent enough where it would have been practical to consider the purchase of another complete rifle. And all of this, for what? To shoot at 50 yards? Shooting centerfire rifles at that distance is a waste of time, money, and is obnoxiously loud.

Let me give you some real sound advice here. Go buy yourself a M&P 15 .22LR look-alike AR for use in the indoor range. It's inexpensive, reliable, and is ideally suited for the range you're shooting at. It's a flat-top M4-style carbine that simulates what modifications you were looking to do with the Colt. lt's less expensive than a dedicated rimfire AR upper and you can get quality practice before you're prepared to take things outdoors at longer ranges.

SFRC (sponsor listed above) has the 1.5x-5x Falcon scope I mentioned. Buy x-high rings or a purpose built AR riser mount to put it in. Do some research into it and take a look at what's available and what you prefer.

finally i ve decided that i wont mod my rifle im gonna keep everything stock what just thinking about mounting an optic on the fixed carry handle thats all. i wont change my stock/upper/a2 flash hider. ill keep it stock.

s&w mp15-22 is something i ll consider later instead of spending money on this rifle.

thanks for the reply 2bad4u2.

You could always put this kit in it and shoot it with iron sights. I shoot mine at 200yds with irons and can get 4-5" with reloads from the bench. Those rifles have great sites

You're certain that both the front and back pins on the lower are push pins? That would be most unusual.

There's nothing wrong with your AR15 as is. What do you honestly want to modify on it? If you must, you could swap out the front handguard, you can swap out the stock, you can slap a scope ontop of the fixed carry handle, you can change the flash hider. About the only things you can't do is put a bayonet on it or take the carry handle off.

Why couldn't he put a bayonet lug on it? All he'd need to do is switch out the gas block with any .75" standard...they're like 30 bucks!

If you're thinking about mods, I'd recommend a free float handguard. While the HBAR is accurate, the free float guard makes a big difference in groupings.

As far as optics go, mounting a Trijicon Accupoint TR-21 is a great option. I have one mounted on my HBAR and it shoots great, plus its fairly affordable. You do not want cheap optics on this rifle, the glass should equal the cost of the gun or you'll just end up replacing it later on.
