Hello,

Does anyone have information on how to take the bolt out of a Stevens model 1244 (124, 124B, 124C) bolt action shotgun? I have one that I am going to be selling and I am cleaning it up, but can't seem to figure out how to get the blot handle out of the bolt so that I can remove the bolt.

Thanks,

Ian

If they are like some of the older bolt shotguns, open the bolt, pull the trigger completely back and slide out the bolt. (note safety must be off)

They aren't. They are very different.
I stripped one of these right down a while back, but cannot remember how the bolt handle is removed. With the trigger housing/buttstock removed, you should be able to see up into the receiver from underneath.
Yours have the bakelite stocks?
