Is My Accuracy Hooped? (Update 14-May)

It's an LMT, which means it came from a particular importer who does not do returns...

We'll see what they want to do... I really should've taken some before and after pictures. I swear, it looked like mold was growing on the feed ramps (which probably wouldn't be that much of an exaggeration). There was so much filthy packing grease, dirt, debris, etc. both internally and externally that I wasn't sure at first if it was a new barrel. I spent about an hour just cleaning the outside before I even ran a patch down the barrel...

See how they feel about their name being on a product that is sub-standard and let them deal with the vendor. I would not shoot it until I have spoke to someone.
Be polite , be firm and don't take no for an answer, I personally think they will replace it for you.
If all else fails ask to speak to the owner.

Or an XCR... ;)

Is it hooped? Probably not.
Your overthinking it. How does it shoot?

Probably. No idea yet.

That's a great suggestion - appreciate the info, thanks!

When I had one of the bolts for removing the barrel shear off while replacing the 16" with the 20" barrel I emailed both the dealer and LMT. Granted it was only a bolt but.. I had immediate responses from both. The issue was dealt with right away by having a new bolt sent out at no charge even though I bought it NIB off the EE not from the dealer. LMT also sent emails a day or so after. It was already taken care of by then. But still I was impressed.

If all else fails there are a few other options out there. Others have installed the SS barrels (not many out there though) and might be willing to sell the CC one. Or wait a while and upgrade to the SS barrel. The UK and New Zealand military contracts both have SS barrels in theirs (16" for UK, 18" for New Zealand). The Canadian DND Armalite AR10 also uses a SS barrel.

That being said I would be extremely surprised if this wasn't dealt with by Monday.

14-May Update: So the (only) option I've been given is to return the defective barrel to the dealer, who will endeavour to have LMT replace it within 4-12+ weeks (though they're not able to provide or guarantee a firm timeframe). As this potentially bumps my shooting season to Fall, I'd requested a refund and was flat-out told "no".

so....who is this dealer so i can avoid them?

If I bought a BRAND NEW car from lets say...nissan.

And the nissan had lets say faulty shocks.

The dealership would have to deal with it, I shouldn't have to call Nissan headquarters across the ocean!!!

We're not talking about a used product that may have some signs of reasonable use, we're talking about BNIB product that has the reasonable requirment of being ... B N I B.
Selling a faulty product that may have potential safety issues and then not accepting refunds is way out of the question. Isn't that borderline fraudulent to sell faulty product without option of reimbursement in the first place? If not, why don't I go buy a thousand factory seconds and sell them at face value, then tell everyone who complains to deal with the factory its not my problem? How would anyone prove this didn't actually happen in the first place? There's no accountability at this point.

There is pretty much only 1 dealer I know of that deals LMT and they start with a Q
