I bought this for my daughter at EPPs while back ,Finally got to fire it yesterday, What a piece of ####E! I load fresh mag, fires first rd does not eject fully, stove pipes. Im using MFS, norinco and federal 55 grain with pmags and usgi alum mags,

I stripped it down completely , everything looks fine? Im not sure if epps will exchange it for another, I guess Ill be calling them Monday to see what their policy is. Of all the years Ive dealt with them or anybody else for that matter this is my first lemon firearm :(

Was it wet - especially with short barrelled AR's it is essential that the BCG be run wet with lube. As far as ammo goes every single failure of a Norc AR that I'm aware of has involved MFS ammo - not saying this one is, but let's say I hear that a lot. Is the BCG developing any recognizable wear pattern? - 2 of the BCG's I've seen were showing signs of being a little on the tight side, and would probably benefit from some light lapping, especially on the under surface.

did you pump the forward assist? Did that make any difference?

Just shot a Norc for the first time yesterday (used - two owners) and it worked flawlessly through over a 100 rnds. I stripped, cleaned and lubed it before taking it out and shot cheap Norinco ammo (same ammo that repeatedly fouled my old Kel Tec Su16).

even with the federal ammo it was doing this?
the only problem i ever had with my norc was useing an aluminum 5/30 mag. it would some times jam the first round off the mag. but useing pmag it worked 100%.

Did you remove all those little cotton preservative/anti rust "bags" from inside the bolt carrier and receiver extension?

Encountered a fellow on the range having problems with a new CQ, still had them inside the carbine....

I had the same problem with my AR-15 10.5 Norc. I replaced the BCG with a new LMT BCG, and now I don't have a problem. First 100 rounds was a nightmare. I fired another 200 rounds and there has been no problems. I am the second owner of this Norc. When it works, I love the gun. But the first 100 rounds I thought the gun was cursed.

It was completely stripped and cleaned and lubed, i cleaned it again and went to range last nite, same crap,I tried the lar mag and norc factory mag as well. Im sending it back for replacement, or refund ,Ill most likely get a core 15 or another stag ,you spend $700+ on a rifle, it should ####ing work :(

Ya the mags by Norc are def the weak link, i used mine with no issues but could see why they they could cause issues?

Mine was fine on both the 10.5 and 14.5 CQ but yes i would be pissed as well \, and by us telling you ours work does not help.

But my guess is the cheap ass mags man, or could be an internal issue, does it run at all than jam, or not cycle at all?

Gas block tube? lots to check, but borrow a mag of anyone out at the range and try it ?

Good luck, alternate plan take it back and exchange it,,

unfortunately that is one of the very few norcs i have heard of that wont run out of teh box.

cheers

jay

Maybe the gas tube has crap in it, cosmoline or the like.

Thats what im looking at now, I think it may be blocked? tried long pipe cleaners but only goes about 3-4 inches and stops, gonna pick up mechanics wire tomorrow and try poking it through as it is stiff enough, how hard is it to change the gas tube?

Take the upper off, remove the bcg and handguards, drive out the pin at the FSB and slide the tube out the back. Is there evidence of wear on the underside of the bolt, if so it could be dragging and taking energy out of the recoil cycle.
