Hey guys,

Just wondering what a reasonable price would be for a Colt A2 upper receiver.
Just the upper, nothing else. Also i will need a pin conversion to adapt it to a small pin lower, so any info of where to get that is helpful as well.

Thanks!

Well...down south they run anywhere from $75 to $150...tough to say up here...I'd guess probably $300 (if you have to buy off the EE :D).

I'd pay $100 to $150. More and you might as well buy one from DPMS brand new. RRA makes one too but considering who the dealer is, I'd go DPMS or buy used. If it pretty scuffed up then $75 would be pretty fair. Myself I'm eyeing up the A1 from DPMS for a future build.

No idea on the pins, wouldn't go there myself.

Don't see many A2/A1 builds these days looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

where do you get a new DPMS one? I know i wont be ordering from Qstar

Haven't ordered one yet but I was planning on talking to ATRS as they stock DPMS stuff; components, complete rifles. If they can't bring one in, I'll pay to import one on my own.

for the colt conversion pin, I think you could put a steel sleeve on the colt upper front hole, and make it fit the lower front hole.

as far as I know after 2009 colt is not being unique anymore and started making uppers with standard pins. so if you are buying colt upper, try looking for post-2009s and ask the selling if it is .158(standard pin size) or .170(colt bigger size)...

wish it could help

I put a small-hole Armalite upper on a large-hole Colt lower a few years ago and got the adapter pin from Wolverine. They may have what you need for your project.
