Cz858 ftf

There's a retention piece on the passenger side of the inside of the receiver. When pushed all the way down it secures the FCG pins in place. If this tab isn't seated all the way, it can snag the linear hammer, slowing it down and causing light primer strikes. Maybe that has something to do with your FTF's?

Jubus, do you mean the little button that holds the bolt back when the magazine ejects the last casing? I think it might be a bad batch of ammo like martinjozwa mentioned, as the Czech cartridges didn't have any problems feeding. Has anyone else had a "bad batch" of ammo? I guess there isn't much I can do about it eh? I still have 900 or so rounds of the russian stuff :HR:

He means failure to feed not fire.

As far as ammo goes maybe it doesn't like the Russian stuff. I know this is totally unrelated but my Remington 870 doesn't like Winchester Universal 2 3/4 shells. Shoots everything else fine but the said ammo gets stuck in the chamber every 2-3 shots.

Since you mentioned your rifle is new, shoot all the Czech stuff first, then go back to trying the Russian ammo, by then maybe the parts will have worn out enough to tolerate the difference.

Good call. I think I'm going to try and cycle some of the russian stuff through my SKS tonight and see what happens.

Thanks everyone for your advice/input. This site is AWESOME :D

Ahhh, Gotcha! I'd still check that the tab is down. It's easy to miss and it can also affect the movement of the BCG. Maybe slowing it and creating feeding issues the same way that charging a rifle too gently can... Either way, food-for-thought!

I'll take a look tonight. I'm pretty sure I know which tab you're referring to, and it was a bit sticky when i was at the range.

Thanks again guys!

Haha no, in the event of a slam-fire, my neighbours probably wouldn't be impressed (I'm in a condo). Fortunately a couple of my buddies have farms a few mins away.
