I'm trying to figure out why an STI Trojan 9mm is having ejection problems. The extractor works greats but the brass isn't bouncing off the ejector. Could it be caused by 125pf IPSC loads and a really, really heavy recoil spring?

What exactly is happening?
Where is the brass going?
When the slide is off the frame, and the barrel is out of the slide, will the extractor hold a case to the face of the slide?

I have the exact same gun in 9mm that I use for IPSC Classic Division. It came with a lighter spring installed and the original in a tube when I bought it. I would say your spring is too heavy. Does it do this with factory ammo?

The brass doesn't bounce off of the ejector.

No where, mostly stays in the gun held there by the extractor or just lays to the left of the ejector.

The extractor does hold the case to the face.

Not as much. I'm going to load up some hotter rounds to try and confirm that it is a heavy spring problem.

hmm..so it is staying in the gun held in by the extractor?...so it is not meeting the ejector because it is not going back far enough....OR the ejector is too short (ie: .45 ejector?)
