do the regular factory tanfoglio base pads (aluminum) have set screws to keep the base from falling off? something like the henning pads?

i've used the cz pads and beretta rubber pads and they fall off if dropped a certain way.

i use grip tape on cz pads to keep them from falling off but i might need to drill and tap as using grip tape is a pain.

still falls apart if dropped even with the hole lined up. happened many times indoors. i will drill and tap my current basepads and if it don't work i'll get the factory aluminum pads.

Eh? There is a notch on the bottom plate that going trough the hole in the basepad, when assembling magazine make sure notch does go into the hole...

with the factory aluminum I place a small piece of grip tape on the bottom. I use those in the US. I use the rubber in Canada.

found a pic.

Tanfoglio makes two aluminum pads. Ones made for magwell C005 or without C004.

Do they both have set screws like picture below of C005? Which is better for use in a stock 2 / shadow?

Yes, both have set screws.

C005 is designed for use with a magwell. C004 won't work in a gun with a magwell.
For a Shadow, either would work; neither offering an advantage over the other.

Sean, do you by any chance know if Shadow will fit USPSA with magazine fitted with those basepads?

It doesn't fit with the rubber Tanfoglio basepads for sure...

I specifically bought them for that reason...the aluminum basepads on tanfoglio mags fit in the USPSA production box, inserted in my stock2. The dimensions are similiar with the shadow. The aluminum basepads are about 60% the height of the rubber basepads.

Also make note that the Tanfoglio Aluminum Bases don't take well to dropping on indoor range floors; Outdoors - is much better.

We have 9mm small frame (shadow friendly) chromed mags on sale that include the aluminum bases; the only problem with them is they have the old laser cut that Tanfoglio used to do.

You basically get the tube for free (which you could either weld or use until it breaks in practice) with the purchase of a new aluminum base, follower and spring.

I have the high cap Tangfo mags I use in my Shadow with CZ high cap rubber baseplates I had to drill and use muffler tape to get to hold. Which basepads fit the high cap Tangfo (one with single pin in bottom of baseplate and are good to use indoors)?
