Continuation of "Non-Restricted ACR Blues"

I await Questar's reply, but I fear they know they got caught in a lie and will hope it gets swept under the rug rather than admit their faults. I dont understand how people think its good business sense to have B.S. customer service in the age of the internet.

Angryeyebrows, you should go write up your complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It forced Questar to respond to your complaint or else it gets publically posted to the BBB site forever. You also get a copy of any/all responces they come up with to your claims.

Questar, if you made a mistake, suck it up and help a customer get what he paid for. When you come out publically and stand behind your products, you might lose money on the one transaction, but you retain/gain customers. I know which side of the fence I am on until I hear about a resolution.

wow what fail... so only consumers get banned on this website, not anyone paying ad space?? i can't believe after reading that anyone would even try and defend their service!
SO GLAD I DID NOT ORDER AN ACR FROM YOU!

Welcome to CGN... This is the way things are done here... I've been watchig a couple of other threads where the omnipotent mods lock the thread or move it to the reatilers forum so they can lock it. Not kosher mods... not kosher at all...

This is what comes up if you try to order an AR uper from Questar:

Please Note: Many items we sell can be purchased without a PAL or other detailed info, however, it is our Corporate Policy that most firearm parts, barrels, optics, etc. require us to verify that the purchaser is a licensed gun owner (holds a valid PAL). It is based on this policy commitment that many of the items we handle are granted export approval by US State Department. One or more items in your shopping cart require that we obtain your valid PAL and other info (date and place of birth allow us to verify this with the CFC database and to process your firearms transfers instantly on-line). Please provide the following details to proceed.

This alone is reason enough NOT to buy from them, IMHO.

I hate companies that ask for PAL info when they don't have to. On that note, someone needs to unf**k the CFC and tell them to stop asking for DOB! It is absolutely not required.

Optics and barrels, really? I've bought Aimpoints from 2 different retailers (One shot I think, and DS Tactical) and never was asked for anything but my shipping info and payment. I'm surprised they didn't ask for my PAL when I bought the AR15 buffer tube and Magpul MOE stock for my .22 rifle. That'll probably be the last they see from me though.

There has been absolutely no effort by Questar to reach out and make this right. At this point, all I want is a simple apology. Clearly that will not mend the broken relationship, but at the very least they could acknowledge that they were in the wrong here and that they lost me as a customer all for a few hundred bucks.

I want to thank everyone for their support (in both threads). I hope this has opened the eyes of some of Questar's customers, as well as all the new folks to this website who might not know the kind of people they are dealing with.

Angry I feel that you did get raw deal in this and they should apologies for there inept handling of this issue .As for dealing Questar I never will deal them !

Just popping in to say I too am unimpressed with questar. I have tried to order parts in the past, when asked for a ballpark price I was told just to order to find out... It's too bad they are now the only Canadian distributor for lone wolf products. Their markup is huge compared to the source I was buying from before.

I hate the way US companies give sole-source distributorships to Canadian companies. The monopolies sure put us at the mercy of crazy markups.

Yep. I was gonna but a 7.62 upper off them a few years back till I read that. If your a company that askes for a PAL to buy firearm PARTS then you are NOT on the right side.

Well this is all very difficult to hear. There are plenty of dealers that work hard and are fair and it makes no sense to send money to one that takes customers for granted.

Thanks for for this angryeyebrows. You likely saved me time and money, none of which I like to waste.

Not that I DON'T trust what the OP has posted. I just don't think it's fair to automatically assume they are 100 % at fault. At least not before they've had a chance to speak on the situation.
My dealings with Qstar are limited, and ( by the looks of things ) they have had ample time to address this issue.
I just can't help but wonder if they don't wanna address it here, in this particular thread, for obvous reasons.
In any case, as the buyers, you vote with your wallets. This is very serious.

They are 100% at fault. The issue was with their barrel. After they continually denied the issue and even lied about it, they flat out said they would not deal with it and I was forced to contract a private gunsmith to sort it out. If it's not their fault, whose fault is it? Mine?

Take it easy, I can read. :)
I have just seen cases where customers blew things out of proportion before, and in some cases.... Left certain parts out.
Like I said, I have no reason to disbelieve what you've said, and it sounds like a very s**tty situation. I don't know if I could have handled it as gentlemanly as you have.
( that's why you never buy, sell, trade anything to anyone you can't punch dead in the face at a later time. )

I just have this tendency to play devils advocate, and think for myself.

I'm curious about your take on this, why has Qstar not contacted you, personally - or addressed this very serious accusation in this thread?
I know if I were a business, or an induvidual, I'd either be defending myself, or taking the heat ( like it sounds like they fully deserve! ) this is called, "creditability."
Something that seems be have been dead for longer then I've been alive.

I'm surprised that this thread still exists, well, maybe not that it exists but that it's unlocked and still in this forum.

The fact that Questar has yet to chime in speaks volumes to me. Didn't realize their had been a change in ownership?

I think if Questar knows that they have no choice here but to accept fault and submit that what I have posted is truth. This will obviously loose them business. By staying silent, they loose some business I'm sure but there will still be people that will not believe what I have posted and continue to conduct business with them.

All I can say to those that would continue to support this company is that I hope you never have to deal with a substandard product shipped out by them. You will be left alone to deal with it like I was.
