Suggestions on sling mount points

I am a south paw looking for suggestions where to mount my Magpul RSA to use with a MS2 sling on a NEA AR-15 14.5. I want to get a Magpul ASAP but currently only have the rear mounted strap loop on the back of the stock the rifle comes with.

I have been checking out Youtube and haven't found any suggestions.

Would appreciate any experience that you may have?

If you are set on using the magpul sling, then:

1) Buy a QD Push Button and insert into the QD cup on the front of the rail and clip the sling to it.

2) Buy this sling mount or this one and mount it on the rail and clip the sling to it.


There are other sling mounts here.

I appreciate that Farmboy, I did already buy these other parts off a nutz on the EE. He even sold me a AFG that you couldn"t get me

LOL Sorry, long day and I misread!

Mount the RSA on the bottom or top rail 3/4 of the way back and try that.


Wear the sling over your left shoulder and under your right arm.

The MS2 sling is a total failure in execution. Too slim to be comfortable, made out of ####ty, fray prone material. The quick release is poorly designed and gets caught in your gear, releasing the rifle into the dirt.

I like the concept of the MS2 and it looks like the MS3 is a better execution and materials, I just wish I could find one in stock!

Agreed on VCAS, I've used then for several years, a year of which was deployed. I have them on most of my guns. The Viking tactics sling is also good. I've yet to find anything better than these.

I know, I know. I need a VCAS. One of these days I'll buy one.

I'm under no illusions, I'm just a range poser. I like single points for their increased speed during transitions and shoulder changes. I don't have to go out on long patrols where comfort and the need use both hands trump the virtues of a single point.

I was kidding of course. I could give a f**k who sees me at the range. To be honest, I'd rather be there by myself so I don't have to be interrupted with what i need to accomplish.

VCAS + a 2to1 conversion triglide will give you a convertible 2 pt./1pt. sling with a much better made sling than the Magpul.

Pay no attention to the crap mag change. We were supposed to fire one round on each of five targets, perform a mag change and shoulder change, then fire another five rounds. I hesitated for a bit wondering if I should shoulder change first, then thought better of it. Sling was the Magpul MS2...
