Hey,

I'm looking to buy a Browning BPS Hunter, and was looking on their site and saw the model with the engraved receiver.

I have never seen one of these in person, and the pic is a lil fuzzy on the site, cant quite make out the engraving. Looks like the price is the same as the standard model though.

Anyone have one/seen one? Is it worth the trouble trying to locate one? I like the look of the Standard model, but that engraving really makes that gun beautiful!

I have a bad habit of wanting things that are NEVER easy to find... (sigh)

Hi:
They are really not that uncommon or special. You will have no trouble finding one if you want it. 99% of the factory bps trap guns have it plus most of the field specials and probally more. I first remember seeing it around 1990 I would guess and my 16ga bps has it. It doesn't add any real value to the gun as far as resale or as a collectable from what I have seen over the years.Cannot go wrong buying any bps for hunting etc.
Little better pic, pheasants on one side and ducks on the other side if I recall correctly

Seems Im outta luck at the moment... Cant even find one online to buy. The places that do carry them are sold out.

Will have to see if WS can special order me one I guess...

I bought a used one about 4 years ago, that had full and modified vent rib barrels with it. Not exactly sure at the moment, but I think the serial number dated 1989 production.

The Browning BPS is one of the few shotguns that either a right or a left hand shooter can shoot equally well, as it loads and ejects from the bottom of the receiver.
