Can othentic vintage PU scopes be found in Canada? If not what are some of the good reproductions? If you have a reproduction, how faithfull are they to the originals?

Wartime PU can probably be found, also Westrifle have new production PU made in russia, work like the original but the finish might be different. Original can be found on Ebay but you must be careful, sometimes sellers sell scope that are supposed to be original but in fact they are repro. Repro from ukraine are available on ebay too, they are faithfull copy in every way, all blued steel. You may place a WTB on the EE, you may find something.

Thanks. I'll check it out. I hope the one at West Rifle has accurate repro finish and markings. Does anyone own one from West Rifle? I also saw repros made by accumounts. Anyone own or played with any of these? Reviews would be greatly appreciated.

Search "mosin PU" and go back as far u can in the time line settings.

I have a mosin PU from west rifle and it's my most accurate milsurp. I love it and have no complaints. It's not *always* the case. Sometimes the mounts installed will require shims or grinding. It's not "difficult" to do - just gotta have the proper instructions to do it.

My optics are clear and the rifle itself is very accurate.

My PU mount was installed in such a manner than the stock was touching - and my very first shot with the rifle cracked a bigger sliver of wood clean off. Bout an inch long and centimeter wide. I filed the wood down so it wouldn't touch and I gorillia glued it back. It's been fine for the last 250 rounds ;)

I'd recommend buying one from westrifle.

They do come up on the EE but a lot of the guys are asking more than u can buy em from a vendor for. Likely because they were closer to 600-700 bucks before westrifle slammed the prices down.

Likely some guys pissed they paid more (as I would be) but this is life and the name of the game.

Pm with any specific questions u don't find answers to!

You get what you pay for.My Mosin PU was $450.00 in '85.Translate that into 2012 dollars and you can see the difference in value.Would I ever sell it?Not a chance,You cannot buy a sniper in as nice a shape as this one.I worked for over a month to afford to buy it.Today if it was the same price it would take less than 2 day's wages to buy it.
Funny how 27 years can make a difference.Go back 50 years and there were the $14.95 pickle barrels of #5 enfields and the $149.95 #4 T sniper rifles

Nice. I sure wish I could find me a vintage Mosin sniper with scope today.
