Worked out real sweet. Bought rings planning for a 40mm objective, ended up with a 50 and it clears by like 1/16"!! Also the used scope has the bottom if the front cap filed down (to clear barrel from previous owner) and by pure luck it fits perfect!

Looks great. You made a great choice on the rifle, I have an AAC-SD in .308 (basically the same rifle) and it's a tack driver, get some good handloads and if you do your part I wouldn't be surprised to read you getting 1/2 MOA out of it.

I was gonna say, the sleeve of the front lens cover looks a bit tight ! :p

mine shoots 69gr smk's and 70gr Berger vld's very well over 25grs of Varget in Win brass

Likewise with Jamie with the 69gr.smk's and Varget in mine; But it surprisingly shoots 40gr.bk's and what I would consider a allot of RL7 into .4" average 3 shot groups. Didn't expect that from the faster twist 1/9 like that. Try some 53gr. Hornady Superformance factory stuff you might like it. As soon as I can figure out how to post pics from my new phone I will put up some groups form my sps tac and that Hornady ammo it was pretty awesome stuff!

Nicely done,

Just FYI, mine started to really shine after I bedded the action and filled the barrel channel with Devcon.

Mine shoots 50gr nosler BT into a little over an inch (1.21" average) @ 200y with a personal best of .67".

25.5gr of benchmark, fed match primers and Winnie brass.

Get out and have fun!

Can't wait to get shooting this. Any tips on a load for H335 and 52g Sierra? I think unlike other rifles i have loaded for I will start 1/2 way up the load chart not the absolute minimum like I have done for military old rifles.

I removed quite a bit of rubber material from the barrel channel for end, opened it up 3/16" or so and I torque the crap out of the front action screw and not quite as much on the rear and have been really impressed with this guns performance so far. A good bedding job would certainly not hurt thou. But I have been waiting after buddy who is supposed to be laying me up a Mac A-5 clone. If he ever gets her done and in snow camo it should mkae for a wild coyote rig.

Oh and I have had better luck with benchmark with 55gr.'s than 335 have not tried any 52's thou.

52 gr load

I have one promising load I am going to do more testing on, it is 25 gr H335 pushing a Hornady 52 gr HPBT, 0.010 off the lands. Cheers Roscoe

What do you guys think of this.... I am going to make some loads for this guy today. Sierra manual shows 24.1-27.6gr for the 52 gr Sierra's. I figure I will start at 25.8gr and go +0.2gr for 10 loads bringing me up to 27.6gr, 5 of each giving me 50... is 0.2gr enough to catch the sweet spot on these little cases? this is the smallest round I've loaded.

Sounds like a good span, not sure with the smaller 223 cases but I should think you have a fine enough resolution to catch a good load. Are you just shooting groups with these, or ladder testing?

Holy #### balls I'm pumped!! Range report will be up tomorrow. Going to sight in with some bulk 223 I have then get the handloads rockin at 200 yards. Built 50 with h335 and 50 with varget. Stay tuned. Hope it shoots as good as it looks.

Well made it to the range today and learned a few things.

1)I need a better rest for developing loads, going to pick up a couple bags.

2)I need more practice shooting.

3)I also learned that I love this rifle.

4)This rifle shoots great, will get more into looking for a perfect load when I buy some 69 SMK's.

Anyway onto the pics. Started my loads at 200 with varget, 25.3 under the 52 grain Sierra gave me this.

Moved down to 100 cause of the wind and came up with this from 27.4 h335 under the same.
