Ok so I am a little confused. I sent in the application to the government for my hunter number. SO when I get my number card back I have to go get my actual hunting license? Then I have to go get a species license right?
Is there a limit of how many species license I can buy. I wanted to hunt black bear, deer and moose which are all open season here in my area.

Have you recived your BCWF Core graduation certificate yet? That's what you send in to the gov to get your hunter number.

You need a hunting lisence and species tag for each animal you wish to hunt with a few exceptions, some vermin don't require tags.

At this point I'd suggest going to your nearest sporting goods store and grabbing a hunting synopsis. Read it from cover to cover....repeat.

Next try and find someone to take you hunting. There is a LOT more to know than getting a piece of paper, buying a tag and hitting the bush.

Hunting is one of the most rewarding endeavors you will ever undertake. That said, it's not one to be taken lightly. You definitely need a mentor.

Good luck on your journey.

Oh yes I absolutely understand that I am not ready to go on my own. I would just like to know how to do everything properly just incase my mentor doesn't. I've already been in trouble for accidentally keeping bull trout because my "mentor" told me it was a dolly varden.

Where abouts are you located??.

You send in your test results to BCWF along with payment. BCWF sends you back your certificate of completion. That is what you send in to the gov for your hunter number. Depending on where you live, you might be able to walk into a service BC office locally and get your hunter number on the spot.
