Hello Chaps,

I've been sniffing around for a nice, used O/U 12 ga for a while now. I have an 870 for ducks/geese, but have always wanted a nice upland gun.
My budget doesn't permit too free of reign...
I've been hoping to find a nice, used shotgun in the $650-$850 range.
To that end, I stumbled upon Trade Ex Canada (TEC). I had never heard of them before and do not know what sort of reputation they may carry. Anyone have any experiences with TEC to share?

The shotgun I'm considering is a Husqvarna O/U 12GA with a 27.25 inch barrel andventilated rib. Full over improved. Single selective trigger, ejectors. buttplate may require final fitting. Very good bore. Shows slight handling marks. Overall very good condition. The price is $695.

I have no experience with Husqvarna shotguns. I shoot a 30-06 and a .270 Husqvarna though and have always liked them. TEC states they have a 30 day 'no questions asked' return policy, so I thought that if the firearm fit felt at all awkward for me I could simply return it.

Some questions...
What does a grade of 'very good condition' mean? Is there a standard grading system used in the industry?
If I intend on using this firearm for sharptail/huns/some trap/some sporting clay will I likely wish I had purchased a newer shotgun with longer barrels and interchangeable chokes?

Sorry for the newb quests. Any advice would be appreciated.

Their reputation is second to none here on CGN. I have never had any bad dealings with Anthony, nor have ever heard of any other.

Deal with confidence!

It seems on common posts that the rating T.E.C. puts on their firearms is one (2?)
step below what it is.
I.E.........their rating of good would be good plus to excellent.
If you see something you like on their product line, I would act on it.
Inventory there seems to move pretty fast there.
Great father/son team.

Or you could wait and watch the EE. A short time ago I picked up a O/U for my dad off of here. It was an SKB 505 (if I remember correctly), just like new with 3" chambers , single selective trigger, ejectors and screw in chokes for $700.00. But as far as tradeex, I have bought from them and there was zero problems.

Thanks very much - I appreciate the response.

Any comments on the Husqvarna?

In honesty, I've never really been around too much in the way of nice O/U shotguns...
Dad has a Win 101 that he and I have always both really liked (despite what I gather from this site and others - that it has a reputation for excessive recoil).
In my knocking-around I've seen a few Citori's - but that's about it.

I'm feeling very much overwhelmed by the numbers of makes/models of shotguns to choose - and so many of them entirely new to me...

Many of you are established collectors of fine shotguns.
Any advise you might offer someone with a few dollars and only a smattering of background knowledge and experience?
