Hey fellow 'nutz,
Just wondering if anyone had any pet loads they would like to share if they have ever reloaded for one of these puppies with a 9 twist barrel? I know it kind of limits bullet selection to about 70gr and lower but its all fun to 500yds just the same. Thanks in advance and look forward to reading some recipes!

Don't tell anyone, but between you and me, I use Nosler Custom Competition 69 gr bullets. CCI br 4 primers. Winchester brass. 23.5 grains of IMR 4064. One hole at 100. Clover leaf at 300(not me shooting). 3 shot - 3 inch group at 500, again not me shooting. All mine wears for glass is a Bushnel Elite 6500 4.5-30X50 mil dot. Hail mary out to 933 yards.

Lol. Sweet. I bought a box of the nosler 69gr the other day. For the price a box 250 comes for I figured what the heck! Was thinkin about trying varget or RL15... Ladder test tomorrow :) what kind of a seating depth has been working or you in relation to the lands?

My VLP likes them just off of the lands about 5-10 thou back. I use 50 gr. varmint grenades with 20 grains of IMR4198 and a CCI primer. Mounted on top is a Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50. Squirrel vapourizer, funny to see thru the scope. I never thought a little bullet would turn a solid into a red vapour. lol

I seat to 2.250 so they fit in the mag. It was no significant change when I played with seating depth. I tried Varget and I couldn't get anything consistant. Have fun.

Ladder test success!

Took the ole girl to the range this morning to perform a ladder test using the Nosler Custom Comp 69gr and Varget. Was using some 1f Federal brass and a CCI small rifle primer and seated them at 2.300" which is .030" off the rifling. Attatched is a pic of the ladder test. I was surprised to see about 4 of the loads bunching together in about a 3/4" area, Test was done at 200yds. I am not complainin! Loads were from 24.2gr to 26gr in 0.2gr increments. Shot one from each load one after another, then followed up with the second round of the same loads so 1 and 11 are the same, 2 and 12, 3 and 13 etc. Looks like my node is around 24.8gr which would correspond to 4 and 14. 8 and 18 also look very flat but I'll start with the 24.8gr load for now. Not bad for a bedded factory rifle with a Sightron SIII 6-24x50 LRMOA and a tac-pro.
Any further input on the ladder test is encouraged as well, thanks!
