Finally managed to complete my Marlin, just the way I like it. My Boyd's stock rolled in yesterday, I only needed about an hour and a half with a round rasp to cut out the channel at the front. Fit is very nice along the top, a bit off at the trigger guard but you'd only notice it if you are OCD about that kind of thing. I am, so I may look to make adjustments later, but for now I can live with it.

The best part about that stock is that the check-weld is perfect with the Tech-Sights peeps. Shoulder this Marlin and you are looking right down the aperture.

Very pleased...

The black and grey gives her a sinister look... Gopher Reaper... :D

Very nice setup! How does it shoot?
Haven't gotten out with this stock on yet, but with the old one on and those tech-sights, you can one-shot gopher pups nicely out to 40 or so, standing off-hand. Further with a brace. Adults are easy, even out past 75.

Love the peeps so much I'm not putting a scope back on.

Does the rear sight creep?
No; I was worried about it after reading mmatt's reviews on the Williams peep, but the Tech-Sights people have that sorted out. Elevation and windage are both adjustable on the rear sight, and they are spring-and-ball loaded so every adjustment clicks and sticks in place.

The aperture can swivel a bit if you poke it for some reason, but it didn't twitch even after some 500 rounds at the gopher patch.

Clings well to the dovetail. It's only two weeks old so far but all signs are good.

Where did you get the tech sights (they don't ship to Canada do they) ?
Straight from Tech-Sights.com; I though they didn't either, until I took a closer look at their website.

Shipping is a measly $6.00 extra to ship it to us up here, and they were happy to do it. It was a bit slow crossing the border, but I still got it in about two weeks.

Maybe they changed their shipping policy? I can't seem to order using their site, I can't select a shipping amount. Dug around a little on their site and here's what they say:

SHIPPING
Shipping will be by United States Postal Service - First Class or Priority Mail.
We only ship to U.S. addresses.

I'm looking at the website now too and seeing the same thing. I have no idea what is going on; I ordered it straight from that website.

I sent them an email asking why.

I just called them and they are not shipping to Canada anymore

International orders that exceed $100.00 (US) will NOT be processed.
($100.00 is the product value, freight charge NOT INCLUDED

That is posted when you go to checkout. Everything still says they ship when I go to a check out

Shipping is listed at $43.50 to saskatoon.

Yes, they still ship to Canada....

If the value of the stock [before shipping is calculated/added] is more than $100 then Boyds will not ship international [including Canada].

The stock I ordered was $92 [finished] so it was shipped. Shipping cost was another $43.90 so my total on my order was $135.90 - but because the cost of the stock [before shipping costs] was $92 - they shipped it to me [in Canada].

If the price on the base stock or stock plus accessories [engraving, etc] exceeds $100 then they won't ship international.
