I'm not looking to break the bank and I'm not opposed to buying used. Some where around the $150-250 range. So if this was your rifle what scope would you choose?

Depends what you are using it for and where you will be using it ie. deer hunting in the bush or just plinking in the back fourty. Need some more info for a better recommendation.

Tasco Rimfire 3 x 9.
$65 + tax including the rings. Canadian Tire or Walmart.
I have one on my 10-22 and my BL22 and both have been very dependable.

Probably look at a 4X Weaver in see thru mounts. If I didn't like the way see-thru mounts I would get a 2-7 maybe Burris or Vortex. Pretty easy to spend some elses money though.

Some Canadian Tire stores sell the Bushnell Banner. It would be a good enough scope for your rifle. It's a 4 power and a 32mm objective with a nice duplex crosshair. Price was about $50

check out the redfields if you can find one at basspro or other. They were bought out by leupold a while ago and seem reasonably priced with decent optics, and last time I was basspro they couldnt keep them in stock they were selling so well.

I'd look for a rimfire like Leupolds 2-7 power, or possibly a shotgun scope like a Leupold 1-4 because there wouldn't be any parallax issues, and they are more compact which suits the application.

In your price range Redfield, and Bushnells 3200 series are good bang for your buck.

Older scopechiefs look nice. Glossy, old-school...like that 9422! I've been trying to get another exactly like this, 2.75x magnification. Had a WTB ad on here forever, no dice. Really clear glass, very fine crosshairs, etc.

I would do up a nice 1.5-5x20, heavy reticle if you need it. Leupold VX-I might be a 1-4x20 or something of the like.

Or you could go with a red dot sight.... Aimpoint with a 2 MOA dot....
