So being one of the in-bred northern England bred types, my comfort zone outdoors starts to disappear just above 20C.

I keep seeing ads for the "new" materials and notice some pretty swanky shirts and jerseys for IPSC shooters. (Techware, etc.)

What really works, and what doesn't?

Are the off the shelf options at my local Marks Work Wearhouse any good, or pale by comparison.

Nothing sucks more than being half way through a match, soaked in sweat and wearing what feels like wet clammy canvas.

Euxx and me finished yesterday match outside of Cincinati where the temperature were almost 100 degree. We had Techwear jersey and they worked.
270 rounds from 9:00 till 18:30. Jersey worked well

I like under armour uv shirts. Only had thing is the wear and tear by your belt and grip tape. I want a techwear shirt. Dave if you get a shirt let me know and we can order together.

Could be a plan, as I believe they have a minimum order.

With the Under Armour shirts, do you use it as an under shirt or loud and proud? I've seen T-shirts that looked like they were meant to be worn under your daily wear.

ADIDAS makes sports shirts that work well. I have one for doing sporting clays, skeet and trap that I wear under a shooting vest: it works well to keep me dry in the 22-26 Celcius weather I have shot in.

Don't know about belt and grip tape on it: the one I have is a Rugby practice jersey and is supposed to be pretty strong against guys trying to tackle you by the clothing. If you've never watched Rugby, YouTube it: only real man's sport that doesn't involve firearms in my very opinionated opinion. :p

Ih you are looing for a full out custom shirt there are cheaper options out there but Techwear is still on top. if you don't want a full custom shirt than you can still get Techwear shirts from shoters connection or Speed Shooters International and a few other companies that have made Jerseys to sell. Buying right the first time is cheaper in the long run.

:D Good to know..

I came over from the very northern end of Lancashire, my comfort zone goes off for a swim as soon as the sky isn't grey, I'll have to look into this stuff..

Get the Techwear now if you guys are looking at them! A 7-week wait is quite a bit in the short shooting season we have here. I am eagerly awaiting the completion of my customized Enos jersey.

For right now, I wear Under Armour golf polos for shooting and they work fine. They do snag though...

+1 for techwear....it is about a 6 week wait. my new one is due by July 1st along with a few customers locally.

One thing to note is to make sure you are clear about what size you want. If you are tall..(6ft),..than ask for the Tall option. I have some XL regular from last year and they fit smaller than my first shirts from 2008. I am going safe this time and ordering X-X-L tall.

BTW...SUe is AWESOME to deal with.....very helpfull and super nice.

How much is shipping usually? I see shirts range from $70-$105. I think custom logos are $25 each.

I'd really like one with the cgn beaver logo.

Around $90 if they have the logo's on file. + shipping and duties. I got dinged by ups or fedex...brokerage and duties..etc adds about $25..

I like the 5.11 performance polo, not a great variety of colours but no logos so you don't look like some kind of NASCAR clown. :p I'd like to try the Vertx polos but our local dealer doesn't stock them.

I have few of these moisture wicking shirts, but all lower cost brands.. they still work o.k., but will go by to check out some of these other options, and see if they're durable enough for decent price.. many to choose from.

keep eye out for specials as well.. wide range of prices here to consider for each individuals pocket book...

I wear a white cotton shirt.

works well, breathes with the chest rig or plates very well.

fancy stuff is pretty fancy though.

I was at Le Barons a couple year ago during a sale and picked up 3 Under Armour UV T shirts for $60 tax in. They have held up pretty well as I wear them a whole bunch, grips have not torn them up yet, and powder residue cleans out easy. The big one for me is the hat as I sweat like a b**tard from my forhead. I ended up getting a couple Nike hats; I am not sure waht the material is, but it isort of like a heavier version of Under Armour.
