The tab thickness that you need to check is the part that rides in the oprod slot - its .100" new. Also look for obvious signs of wear in the corners and on the face of the tab.
I think treelinem14 will ship you out a used or rebuilt op rod.
I have a USGI op rod that gauges 0.082" for thickness. Seems to work good. I don't think the tab size matters as much as long as the op rod fits nice with the receiver.
Anyone you can think of? Width is ok but height and thickness are off, plus both corners are getting to look like those in the worn pic. I would think there is a heat treatment required in the process.
For the repair? I'd think most if not all Canadian gunsmiths would be able to do that.
A quicker way would be to simply post a WTB in the EE for a new Oprod, probably be cheaper than buying from the USA, cheaper than a gunsmith too. Norc oprod should be cheaper than a USGI oprod. Buy whichever you have confidence in.
