Ruger 10-22 Takedown

Holy Smoke!!! :( WoW. Your Ruger looks like it was the factory test unit that the did abuse tests on! I hope (and know) Ruger will make this right. Looks like Ruger is pushing production to such a point that QC cannot be maintained.
 
I just picked up one of those today too. Now I have my regular 10/22 All-Weather for sale with a scope. Exact same gun except no take down or case.

Hey Bmillz, do you mind sharing where you got yours and can you give us your first impression on the finish and quality of your rifle?

I don't feel bad that i got into the first batch, I'm confident my issues will be fixed by Ruger and at least I got a fun rifle to shoot in the mean time.
 
I think we found out why the dovetails are messed up on the new 10/22s.

Here is Rugers new machinist who dovetails the barrels.

I'm gonna call them tomorrow and will post what the response is. Does anyone know if I can deal with Ruger directly or do I have to go through the Canadian distributor?
 
Cabela's in Edmonton had a bunch and I also picked one up. I got to look at a few and they all had that discoloration on the barrel. I guess it is nothing to worry about. Now I am going to have sell my 10/22 All Weather (exact same gun just not take down)
 
Got a question for fellow TD owners. I bought mine two weeks ago, shot great, broke down great, shot it again the next day, then went to pull it apart and it was really sticky. Cleaned it thoroughly, shot it this weekend, and was really sticky coming apart after I was done. Does anyone know if this is a heat issue with the metal expanding right after shooting, or just gumming up from shooting? I put probably 100 rounds yesterday, nothing major. Other than that, it shoots great, I think my rear sight is off a little bit (not as bad as I've seen in pictures) but with the scope this weekend it was great. Any help is appreciated. Thx.
 
After sending an email to Ruger USA it appears that the warranty issues for Canadian sold guns are handled here by a warranty repair center in Quebec. I called Wholesale sports where I bought the gun and talked to the gun counter manager. He suggested I bring it back to them and they will ship it off to Quebec for repair. When I asked how long it usually takes for a warranty repair he replied "at least a month". I'm not going to ship the gun away now and be without it for half the summer so I think I'll just wait till winter to return it for the warranty work.
