got an email from them saying that if you ordered more than 3 stocks a year then you had to jump through all the import/export hoops, $50 fees for them to do paperwork, minimum 10pc order, extra fees if you ordered less than min. order, etc, etc, etc, so instead of getting easier to get them across the border it would get harder/more expensive

In another thread someone posted that boyds isnt shipping to canada. Any truth to this?

That is not correct.

I ordered one of their classic pepper laminate stocks for my Stevens 200 in .243 Win on line via their website and received it via mail this past Thurday:

I like their "classic" pepper laminate stocks so much I'm just trying to figure out what one I should order next.... maybe one for a Rem 700 BDL style long action. I have a barreled action in mind for that... :D

Well I got mine delivered to BC two weeks ago -- I think we are still part of Canada. No problems and took 6 days from order to door

I also did like the Pepper Laminate, but i never saw one that did not have red streaks in it and this while acceptable to some, it is not for me, or maybe it was just the poor Marlin Quality

I just wish they would inlet for a Savage DM centerfeed and I would order another. I already have one of their tactical stocks for my 10/22 and am very happy with the quality.

I bought one for my Savage 11 and 93 .. both of them had some small blemishes that look red. Doesn't really bother me, but they are the first thing I notice when I look at it ... lol

Two on the 11 version and 1 on the 93

A post in the other thread on May 26th says they are not shipping to Canada anymore. I know exactly why.

A member on this board f**ked all of us middle of last week. He wrote to the State Department with a loaded question, and gave them links to a couple manufacturers of semi finished stocks. DTCC said it was illegal to export the stocks, and turned the info over to their enforcement division. :bangHead:

Wouldn't surprise me if the State Department puts those companies into bankruptcy.

If the value of the stock [before shipping is calculated/added] is more than $100 then Boyds will not ship international [including Canada].

The stock I ordered was $92 [finished] so it was shipped. Shipping cost was another $43.90 so my total on my order was $135.90 - but because the cost of the stock [before shipping costs] was $92 - they shipped it to me [in Canada].

If the price on the base stock or stock plus accessories [engraving, etc] exceeds $100 then they won't ship international.

Was that order since Friday?

Here is the post from Friday from the other thread about Boyds.
I just called them and they are not shipping to Canada anymore

You are going to find at least one other manufacturer saying the same thing.

I just decided on a couple stocks and was going to order next week. f:P:

I'll call them tomorrow.

Yes, a good idea, it will be interesting to see what they have to say.

I would think if the info was correct [that they weren't shipping to Canada at all anymore] then they'd have an alert up on the website already about it.
