Hey everyone,

I've been in the market for a lefty bolt action for some time but what I'm interested in never seems to be in stock or available. Here's what I've stumbled upon.

Browning T-bolt (higher end of my budget/ mags= 50-60 each)
CZ 452 (beautiful gun but only visible seller in a left is frontier and I'd like a 455)
Savage 93R17 (Mixed reviews)
Savage BTVLSS (Looks more like a bench shooter then a trail-gun)

If anyone has any experience with the mentioned guns or wants to gripe about the limitations of shooting left I'm all ears.

Essentially I'm looking for a bolt action .17 or 22 that shoots well out of the box(No mods) that I wont be scared to get a little dirt on when shooting rabbits or gophers.

I have the Savage BTVS in .22WMR only in right hand. The gun is a little on the heavier side, but can be used as a trail gun if you go with a 3-9 or 2-7 scope. The 93R17 is the same as the 93 only chambered in .17HMR. The BTVS stock is one of the best stock designs I have ever used.

I'm a lefty, but after shooting RH guns for so long I'd probably find it awkward.

Im a lefty and shoot Rh rifles as well. I have a savage 93r17. Got rid of that tupperware stock thought. Shoots like a dream as long as not using winchester ammo lol.

I was looking for my first rifle two years ago. Being Southpawed, like yourself, and after a .22 you're selection of rifles is cut down a bit. I ended up with a Savage MkII GL and I'm very happy with it. Shoots straighter than I do and a good trail gun. If your after a trail gun you're not going to cry over, I'd recommend the MkII GL.

That said, the CZ 452 is a very loved rifle that's been discontinued. I've been eyeing the one on Frontier's site, but can't pull the cash together. I just don't know if I'd be as quick to get a CZ scratched up as I would a Savage. Just my 2 cents.

I have the CZ 452 lefty and it's a fantastic rifle but I'm uncomfortable using it as a bush gun 'cause it's so damn pretty. :p
Have the Savage in 17HMR too but it's really a bench rifle for me with the thumbhole stock and heavy barrel. Again, a fantastic shooter.
If I was looking for a bush gun, I'd go Savage or as others have suggested, a nice lever.
The best part of owning lefty guns is that your right handed friends can't shoot them. ;)
