Ultimate Pistol

SIG make decent 1911's. I was joking in a way but of the two I owned, both had FTF's and FTE's.

I don't think I've ever fired a 1911 that has not failed in some way. (personally owned/own 7, fired many more)

In any post-apocalyptic scenario the #1 consideration for a firearm is the availability of ammunition/parts, after that it's reliability and longevity.

I would say a Glock 17 or 19 would be a good balance of those factors.

Ruger 22/45 or Buckmark 22 are ultimate 'zomby' killers.
Mechanics' recommended. If you know what 'mechanic' means.

I'm NOT one.

Recomended because they don't exit, and while they do kill, they aren't likely to do so immediately, so maybe a bit of a liability from a Zombie perspective. - Incidently, haven't heard that term used in ages, sort of like 'wet work' - oldies but goodies.

Yo grimble da beretta aight but da glock strait up da best. My homie had a beretta an some suck stole his slide while he holdin it. Da glock be indistructable and mo accurate and powerful. Wu Tang 4 eva - one

I would go with a XDM .45 I have a M&P 9 and a glock 21 and as far as safe action polymer pistols go I think the XDM is up with the best of them and and 13x230gr can do some damage

Agree with CeeZer. Accurate, quick follow up shots and will scramble the brains enough to drop zombies. 22 is the way to go. Probably a Ruger 22/45 with lots of loaded mags. On the other hand if you are really just talking about being cool thinking about the apocalypse while in your basement wearing just your underwear, yeah M&P45 all the way baby.

.45 for mushy zombie skulls? Overkill, and not enough rounds in case you need them, as well as ammo's bulkier/carry less with you.
CZ shadow in 9mm is my choice.
