Vintage & Sporting Rifle Shoots at Winona (Hamilton area)

I had a great day, if not a good shoot. Something turned my wind knob after lunch.

Thanks, for putting this on Jim. Let's hope you can get another soon.

Next time I will be using my Cz858 for the 100m standing, good CQB practice.

Question though. If large cals are only for 1 thro 5 targets, how does one come and practice with the Swiss? What cal do they shoot?

Are budget cuts responsible for the uncut grass?

Not being a smart-ass...I recall shooting there both as a Reservist and as an OACA member and the grass was always close cropped.

Must be a ##### sweeping for brass!

Are spotters still used down at the lake's edge?

I dissappeared into the grass, felt like being a bad-scary sniper.

Only a secure man would dare use a little sissy poodle shooter.

I'm very secure....in everything. I'm confident too. Some even say arrogant....but only those who know me pretty well. Laugh2

Don't worry, my plan at the next match is to bring along an old Swiss lady that does not get out of the cabinet enough. At a 1902 vintage, she may well be the oldest lady at the match.

I don't have a Swiss, but I have fondled one. The workmanship is terrific.

I could bring an older rifle, like a 1988, but with my eyes the open sights don't work.

The oldest Vintage rifle I have with a scope is this double. made in the 20's, i think.

Oh my. Beautiful. I think I would love to rummage through your collection some day. You seem to have some frantically interesting pieces.

As for eyes, I know what you mean. For my Swiss with open sights, I use an aperture stuck on the lens of my glasses to help be focus on the front sight post. Works amazingly well.
