Both are antiquated designs. In Canada the NR status of the M1A/M305 type gun makes it palatable.
There is no rationale reason for a Mini...
in the near future i will be purchasing a mini 14 target with the hogue stock.

I have owned a norinco m305 and mini14 target.
M305- more useful caliber for big game, better accuracy , alot less money but ammo is not as cheap, lots of add ons
Mini 14- ( mine was a target with bull barrel and dampener etc) . Very nice looking in stainless, cheap to shoot but over twice the price. Accuracy imo was not impressive at all and accessories are lacking.
If i were to buy again it would be the m305

Who would want to change the stock? The stock on those is awsome. As for the other accessories, good point. There is no doubting about the M14's accuracy.
Ya the hogue overmolded stock was amazing but maybe someone else wont like it and want to change it
I want them both. Unlikely. Given the choice, I pick the M305.
No BS review of the NEW model 581 Mini-14 "hickok45 is the only youtube gun guy i respect"

Oh I don't know... Ruger does manage to get the barrels on straight.
Ever wonder why Canada ammo test fires each and every one. Think it's just cause they're nice guys?
