Hey there I would like any info on a Pistol that was my grandfathers. Came across it after he passed. Info on the gun Says
J Stevens A&t Co Sept 6 1854, Chicopee Fass Mass

It has a 9" Barrel and a Wooden stock. Its single shot break barrel .22 cal I believe

Is this gun restricted?

Any Info would be great, Thanks, Sean

Yes, its restricted because of the .22 calibre.
The A & T stands for Arms and Tool I believe.
I think that address should be Chicopee Falls and the date probably Sept 6, 1864.
I can't find any models listed with 9" barrels, most had even numbered lengths like 6 or 8 or 10'. Pictures would help.
Does it have any adjustable sights on it?

It may have been registered under the old 'green slip' system or even the multi gun per sheet system before that. I think the first step is to ID it, then try and find out if it was ever registered and then get it legaly into the present system.
PM sent.
