So I did something really dumb I didn't have the correct cleaning rod so I used one that's almost the same size of the barrel and ended up getting the patch stuck in the barrel with hoppes cleaning solution. The problem is I left it in the barrel for over 2 weeks before I ended up removing it, the patch came out a but rusty and the barrel is a bit fouled where the patch was lodged near the center. I thoroughly cleaned and lubricated and haven't shot it since, I'm looking for opinions on how bad this may be or should I worry about it at all?

2 weeks isnt TOO bad so i dont think there should be any pitting of the barrel, id run a brush threw it a few times to help scrub off any surface rust, then clean as normal and shoot,
on the upside its a factory barrel in 338lm its only good for 1000 rnds any way

a good quality after market barrel will make it 1500-2000+ depending on how hot you load etc. some much over 2000. i personally dont put much stock in factory barrels, since they are hit or miss with the mass production (thankfully most are hits these days)
