I picked up this bcd 4 that had been sporterized at some point in it's life. The stock had been cut down and then it had a coat of varnish and then a coat of black paint applied on top of the metal. After removing the varnish and paint I found little to no blueing left and it's a total m/m, but hey, it's a K98k! All parts are correct parts for a bcd as far as waffenamts are concerned, but no serials match. The bolt matches itself and is a Kriegsmodell with round gas ports and crudely machined shroud, the trigger guard and floorplate are stamped and match each other. Proper brg marked buttplate, "f" marked recoil lug and correct stock for a bcd. Also check out the possible shrapnel damage at the rear band. Maybe I should bash the barrel with a hammer to match.:p

Wow!!! Very well done! :)

It sure is fun fixing up K98s!!

I have a ce41 right now that I am working on.

Do you have a huge stockpile of Stocks or something??? :D

Cheers!

No, I've been fortunate enough to find what I need for stocks as I acquire the projects. I do have a few extra for future projects or trade material, but not many.

Make sure you show us your ce41 once its done.

That is one gorgeous rifle. I love the battle damage and the barrel bands have a really beautiful patina. It's nice to see a resto job this well done. The lack of blue is nice, she shows her age well
