What's the VERY FIRST criteria one must consider when purchasing a new handgun? RELIABILITY.
I've shot 1000ish rounds through TWO Browning 1911-22's without a single problem.
LOL all you want.
What do you shoot? A Glock conversion? LOL.
I didn't say you were an idiot. In fact, up until now all I've used were smileys and you deduced the rest on your own
I wasn't aware that your join date had any relation to competence. Given the OP's stated use the 1911-22 is probably the worst choice, that's pretty clear![]()
P.S. Look through this thread again. I'm sure you'll find more than two of us who thought you were off your rocker. Someone even thought you might be drunk![]()

You're a funny dude, lol.
Take care Mr. Spectacular.
type funny.No, you're a funny dude.
And not "HAHA" funny either; it's more of atype funny.
OP - enjoy your new pistol. The rest of you![]()
OP wants a "first pistol" for "plinking at the range" and MAYBE bullseye shooting, but the sights on the 1911-22 "don't bother him".
Plan to use for plinking at the range and to get into casual competitive shooting (bullseye)
Well who wouldathunk this would become such a contentious thread.
I had a chance to hold the 1911-22. Jewel-like. Felt small in my hands but had a sense of quality and novelty to it.
Then I handled the Buckmark Camper. It felt right. Perhaps not as special as the 1911-22 but seems like a logical first handgun.
So now I sit here with a pile of snap caps anxiously awaiting my ATT and dreaming about the next one... an old school Colt 1911...
Honestly,
The 1911-22 is still fantastic. I'll be buying one eventually too. If it has that feel that you like, don't listen to anyone else. It's personal perception and taste that matters here.
Butt-hurt aside, my only complaint about the gun is that they need to release a new, extended beaver tail grip safety for it.
The hammer bite from prolonged shooting can be pretty bad.
Assembly tolerances are good, trigger is not bad, and sights are terrible.
apart from that, I too hope to get one in the near future.
But I keep finding more accurate ones to shoot and collect.![]()
Lol,
The big problem isn't what gun you want, its how many gun safes you'll need.
