Well on thursday I ordered an optic and mount for my AR. Much to my surprise when I got home on on tuesday it was there, even though canada post preditced the 6th. So needless to say I was happy.

The optic is the Hilux CMR 1-4x. The mount is the Burris P.E.P.R. My initial impressions of the CMR are shocked. At a price of $399, it seems like a steal. The glass is very clear its as if someone painted a reticle on my eye. I also really like the reticle. I went with the red illumination and its also very clear and not blurry even on the highest setting. Well heres some pics, sorry about the phone pics. New camera is on the way. I havent shot it yet but will this weekend and ill update what I find.

Upate: Finally got a new camera and decided to take a couple better pics and some of the reticle. Will be going to the range this weekend and will put up another update then.

The illuminated reticle has 11 settings, one of them being a NV setting.

On another basis, I'm looking for a free float rail but would like one that has no gap between the rail and upper receiver. Anyone know where to get one?

The CMR matched to the PEPR is an awwesome piece of kit.
I love mine on my A2 flat tops.

They zero easily enough and tighten up my groups incredibly.
Now if only someone could explain how the zro-lock thingy works it would be better.

I'm looking to get the same set up.

For now it will go on my Spikes 14.5", but will then go on my Spikes 16" when it arrives.

Looking forward to a good write up for sure.

I haven't tried the zero lock yet but from what I read. When your zeroing your rifle you loosen the two set screws in the elevation turret then adjust your elevation and when you have it where you want, tighten the set screws. Now your zero is locked there. The turret will not adjust any lower elevation than what you zeroed it too. So if you zeroed to 100yds, but then wanted to shoot 300. You can adjust the elevation turret to where you need. When your done shooting 300 and want to go back to 100 you just adjust the elevation down until it stops.

I didn't get a present from Wolverine but I did barter the numbers of my VISA card to them and in exchange they bartered back a nice Leupold 1.4-4x AR also on a P.E.P.R. QD.

I found no issues with the QD after forty or so rounds on my Norc CQA. And reasonably fast shipping too.

I just got the one with green reticle from Wanstalls. Put it on my 14.5 flattop with a QD PEPR and love it. I can't wait to get it out to the range.
Glass seems really clear, love the zerostop feature.
