My budget precision rifle FIRST F-CLASS EVENT !

Well, the closest range that has more than 100m is 90 minutes away, so I have to work with what I have, sorry to dissapoint.

Very demanding lol!

haha thats me! Bob has done some amazing work on this rifle and every stock iv seen hes made, just want to see the results of shooting match the rest of his hard work

Just thinking, a friend of mine has a field that I could go try out up to 400y. I'll probably play around 24.5/24.6. Maybe I'll push it a bit more, being carefull to pressure sign

400 would be a much better distance for sure ! From the groups shot it seems that the virtical spread is near identical between them , so I think a ladder test would help you out for determining the best load :)

This afternoon I had a bit of time for myself, so I installed the rail supplied by Jerry at Mystic Precision. I wanted a clean install, so I chose to install it not on the tip of the stock. I left a space behind to insert the support for the stud.

Made a jig to hold the stock upside down

And I did the channel for the rail. I finished the corners square with a chisel.

Made holes in the rail, and I found some nice 8-32 t-nut where I work, they will hold the rail a lot better than wood screw.

Here is the rail in place

Here the rail looks out of line but the hole is not. The pilar inside the hole is centered with the rail.

Then I took a 1/4 aluminium piece, and with a file I was able to shape it like that.

Et voilà, the stock now has a rail. When I screw the stud it holds it in place

So the built is kinda done, I hope you all liked it. next step is to go shoot more, and maybe next year a Mystic Precision M-Pod

Hi

I installed a Rifle Basix trigger on the Axis last week, works like a charm. I also tried the 60 grains Varmint bullet I bought, so I'll be ready if I go coyote hunting. Looks like the answer is between 25.9 and 26.2 grain of CFE223. In the 26.2 target, the lower hole has 2 in there

I also re-tried the 80 VLD, so far the 24.5 load gave me the best result, next thing I do with this load is play with OAL

shoots as good as it looks! very nice!

id lean more towards the 25.9 end of things, looks like thats pretty hard to beat! the 26.2 has to much virtical spread, and thats what we dont want

Hi all

Looks like 26 grains will be my varmint load. It is written 3 on the target but I realized there is 4 bullet into that hole

Also with the 80 VLD, I loaded them long at 2.5 OAL, bullet jammed into the rifling, and 6 shot gave me this. The one alone was the first (cold bore?) but the other 5 share one hole. Ok, this is 100m, but still, gives me a good starting point for longer range.
