My budget precision rifle FIRST F-CLASS EVENT !

I had a bit of time on my hand during my vacation, and since I will be going to the range once a week for the next two months (100 meter only) I made a benchrest stock for it. It will ride the bag better than the green stock.

Srsly... think about that stock making biz...
Inleted and rough-shaped stocks should be flying out your door. (forget about the final sanding and bedding, those take too much time)

Thanks for the comments. Tried the BR stock last Friday. Shooting free recoil is a school in itself, and I found out that the tables at the range are not solid enough, I lay my elbow and with the scope at 32x the crosshair moves. I'll fix the table next week.

Funny thing. I reloaded Hornady 52 grains match bullet. I did 3 of each from 27 grain up to 28.5 (CFE223, .3 increment) First group is one hole, and all the others are very similar, like 3/4 of an inch or so, hard to find out what will be the next experimentation.

Wish i have a shop like yours!!My shop is prety big but with less tools! I am thinking of playing with my 300RUM with same idea as yours with detachible clip.
would like to know if you bedded the rifle or just bolted right down and how she performs?
I will be taking my break in winter with work and with free time...will dedicate my time to my rifle and stock building for few months anyway!

The green stock and the blue BR are bedded, but I am making Axis stocks that are very close.
Things will get more interresting. I bought a 30-06 Axis, found a 308 heavy barrel, so I will make myself a 308 barreled action, with the same 20 MOA EGW scope base.

Since Axis stocks are all the same lenght and shape, this will give me a lot of options to play with. I'll be able to shoot BR in 308 with my 8-32 scope, then I'll be able to install the 223 barreled action into the green stock with my 3-9 scope, then switch the 8-32 scope over to the 223, etc.

All I will have to do is remove the action, change stock, change scope, zero the scope, and shoot.

So, a little update. The Axis 223 now wears a Mpod from Mystic Precision. Today I went to the range (100 meters) to zero the scope. Still very happy with the results. A couple of flyers, I'll see if I can improve my reloading technique.

Target of today
