Hi there just wondering if anyone has any experience with Globco rifles.

I recently got one from my grandfather, it's a 30-06 bolt action. There are no markings other then globco and cal 30-06.

Any info is greatly appriciated.

I'll post some pics of it once i get it back together.

Thanks again

The name rings a bell, but that's about all I can remember. I think they were importers in the 1950s-'60s.
I think your 30-06 will be a Mauser action and while maybe not top of the line, will be a pretty good, reliable rifle.
I would like to see pictures.

Pictures would help immensely. Could be a P17 Enfield or Springfield 03. Wasn't Globco based out of Quebec and did a lot of rework on military rifles?

When all else fails, you Google Globco!
A Globco model 55 is a Russian semi, chambered for .303 British.
Nothing about a 30-06 bolt rifle. I will still guess a Mauser action of some type.

That bolt handle has P14/ M17 written all over it.
The gun is either a P14 Enfield which were predominately chambered in 303brit, however a few were chambered in 30-06.
Or its a M17 which is the same gun but the U.S. Called it by a different name. They were all in 30-06
The gun was originally intended to be chambered for an adaptation of the 280Ross called the .276, and was machined from 3 1/2% nickel steel forgings.
So if you want to rebarrel/rechamber to .35 whelen it'll handle it.
Gun was originally made by; either Remington, Winchester, or Eddystone.....The Remington model 30 is very similar in appearance.

Is Globco the same as Globe?

BTW the rifle in the pics looks like a P17/Pattern 14 too me.
If its in 30-06 then I'd take a guess at a P17.

Nice rifle btw.
