Black rifles under $1000. What are they?

I'm really liking the SU16F for it's light weight (5lbs empty), as well as it being chambered in .223/5.56 and uses AR magazines. Seems like it would serve me well as a coyote rifle, and maybe some target shooting. I've seen a few youtube videos showing how easy they are to work on annd clean, so that's a plus as well.

But, before I get set on this rifle, I wanted to ask if there are any other non-restricted rifles which are fairly light weight, semi-automatic, and around the one thousand dollar mark after taxes?.. I know my budget is really limiting me here, but, that's my max for now. All suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks, FlyingHigh. I think most of those rifles are way above my budget, unfortunately. The XCR would be a great option if not for the price tag. The JR Carbine seems great, but, wouldn't I be limited in range with the 9mm or .40? I'd like something that I can have confidence in out to say 200 yards.

Tavor and RFB have me drooling lol

At your price point the only options are the CSA/VZ58 and SU-16. It sucks, but black rifles are expensive toys.

NEA-15 CQB 10.5. It's under a thousand dollars and isn't Chinese piece of crap.

OP said he wanted to hunt coyotes.

Here's my XCR and Swiss Arms. Both are for sale for $1000 each.

..............Just kidding!

Heh...that was mean. I would recommend ignoring the price tag, read all the reviews on your non-restricted options and choose what you feel will suit you best and save up for it if it's pricey. Don't forget that the XCR can be 3 calibres with the addition of $750 barrel & bolt kits.

Not nice, Jager! Nice rifles.

I really like the SU16. I just wanted to weigh my options, though, I knew my $1k budget would limit me. The XCR is a damn nice rifle that would definitely suit my needs. Maybe I'll come across a decent deal on one over the next month or two. Thanks guys.

I was all over the PM button until I saw that last part. Cruel, just cruel.

Cant do better for the money than a Benelli MR-1, NR, accuracy reliability, AR mag, 800.00 less than an XCR as or more accurate, take my word for it... JP.

The MR-1 is a great looking rifle. I'm very happy with my Supernova, so I would trust the MR-1 would have great build quality. I'll do some digging on this rifle and see what I can come up with. They're definitely a nice looking rig.
