CZ or S&W ?

I have the M&P in both the 9 and 40 and a Shadow. The M&P's are really nice but my Shadow is hands down more accurate and a nicer out of the box shooter. You are comparing apples to oranges as they are for different purposes.

Buy 'em all!
 
Get both if they rock your world or game or practice. Buy one of them first. Shoot it and enjoy it. Quit smoking (and/ or drinking) and you will have saved enough for the next candidate pistol. It's that simple! Now you have a hobby and a healthier lifestyle. Soon once you have quit smoking, drinking, and working out; you will be ready for the competition scene to step your game upwards. :D

Go for it! Life's too short!

I too have both and they're not the same. I compete in IPSC and with the CZ, I am more competitive. Faster follow ups, more accurate, easier on the recoil due to it's weight. Every non-CZ shooter at my club who tries it, first time on the trigger, groups better and more consistently than with their own. Being steel, I wouldn't want to carry it all day on my hip if I was in LE, but for a match, it can't be beat.

Mine is not even a Shadow, just SP-01 with upgraded mainspring and lighten trigger job. My co-workers have tried it first time at TSE last Fri (company sponsored :), they shot it more accurately and better than other handguns. IMHO it's your choise, try both and choose the one that you feel more comfortable.

Same here as I have the CZ's (85 and SP01) and Glock 35 for both IPSC and IDPA. My scores are always better with the CZ.

However, if carry was a possiblity, give me a small Glock.
 
I have owned one and shot/handled the other quite a lot. I don't really like the CZ as much...feels too milsurp somehow (sharp edges, stiffer controls, likes to stay oily). Entirely personal preference though, it's a great gun from a functional standpoint. I don't think you can really go wrong with either...just get whatever you feel like you prefer and go have fun. If you decide you want to get something else, you won't have much trouble selling either of them, so don't get too hung up on deciding one way or the other.

Just posted this in another thread, but my M&P ran around 2000 rds of spendy hollowpoints, misc FMJ, small-town shooting range reloads and tula/wolf steel case. Zero malfunctions. Sold it to a friend and as far as I know it's been running great since.
 
Around here the IPSC Production class is jokingly called the "Shadow class". Literally around half the entrants are using the CZ and the other half is a mix of "all the rest" with Glock and M&P making up the bulk of that mixed half. There is a reason for this. The Shadow is just that effective due to the weight controlling the recoil and the way it fits so many shooters' hands so well.
