Just picked up a Stevens model 350 for a truck gun and it's stamped MFG. sun city Machinery co LTD . P.R.C . I'm not china gun fan but it look and shoots all right . Any concern with this shot gun that you know about ?
 
For $250 it is probably the best deal of any gun out there, at least if you got the ghost ring sight security model.

I had a Maverick 88 which I thought was the best buy, but when I found this one with the ghost rings the Maverick was for sale shortly after.

I have had mine awhile, and it is built like a tank.

Stood up to pretty much everything I have thrown at it without issue, including a ton of slugs.

I have put a couple hundred rounds through it and my only complaint is the crappy trigger. The heavy pull combined with the thin trigger have my finger hurting after awhile.

Pretty accurate out to 50m though and will likely be my deer gun this controlled shotgun hunt season.

Gotta figure out how to bring the trigger pull down though.
 
I was looking at these yesterday, I was looking at a 500 or 870, and someone mentioned the maverick 88 or Stevens 350..

You liked the Stevens that much more?
 
Depends what your looking for.

The Stevens is what it is. There is no aftermarket parts like with the Maverick that will allow a lot of the Mossberg 500 stuff.

I like the Stevens with the ghost rings for shooting slugs out to 50m, compared to the Maverick which is not easy to mount any sights or optics to.

The Maverick is much lighter though, and works dam well. The trigger is also much better on the Maverick, but I am hoping I can improve the Stevens trigger some.

American made at that price is hard to come by.

It is a better made gun then the Maverick though, hands down.

Like I said the only downfall is the trigger.
 
Fyi. Most of the stevens guns are china mart. Even the ones marked usa are over 80% china mart with the resty made in canada ,so not sure how they get away with made in the usa on it...

Ok Hold on. Anyone want a Great gun along with a great trigger with the slickest action out there AND be a pimpin redneck all at the same time ?

IF you have $250 to spare - forget getting new.

A used Ithaca M37 should fall into that used range. Mine was $175.

Its the lightest pump out there. The trigger is butter smooth and I know where to get local spare parts still.

As you can see I have beaten the living snot out of mine (stock class IPSC) and it just keeps going @6000 + + rounds

My disadvantage is being limited to 5 rounds and the firearm has no override loadout features BUT because John Browning was a badass designer, he put this in as an added touch....as long as u purchase one that is pre 1970s, it will work just like mine does..

I've got both. A M37 and the Stevens 350.
The M37 will slam fire and the Stevens won't.
The finish on the Stevens is not that good but for the money who cares.
It goes bang.

Also i had that same desk lamp like 20 years ago.. lol good ol' wood trim..

i was tempted to pick one up as a $250 beater....
but $50 more gets you a 12.5" Grizzly with ghost rings, free shipping and complete 870 parts interchangeability. the Stevens gets mixed reviews and the design is a PITA to strip.
 
My Stevens is a piece of junk. I couldn't recommend that shotgun to anyone. And the finish rusts like crazy, even after constantly coating it in rem-oil. Stevens = never again.

Benelli M4, 14" (restricted), fantastic gun. I also appreciate his choice of a real Ithica 37. Blows my mind as well people will throw their money at a Chinese version when they can have the real thing at the same price. People aren't willing to hunt for used anymore, has to come over a counter. ;)
