New M305, *really* difficult to release mags

The rivet may be getting in the way of the release being able to push fully forward to allow the mag to drop. My fix was the grind down the catch plate on the bag of the mag to allow it to clear the release. Worked great. Worked even better with the oversized NEA mag release.

my new shorty has the same issue with stuck mags, but its realy the leaste of my concerns.
it also has issues with rounds exploding and separating in the chamber, hard extractions, miss fires and s**t flying back into my face... the bolt only has solid contact on one lug, head spacing is wack and the indexing is off. I think I just paid $450 for a parts gun, only all the parts are worthless.

Send it back

Obviously covered under warranty.

I had the same problem with one of my two mags. After completing the clinic and putting the mag in and out quite a few times it now works fine...

Replacing the mag release lever roll pin solved all the mag problems I was having with my 07 Norc. The pin was shattered length wise and bent. Had issues locking mags in place and removing them. Changed the roll pin out at the Spruce Grove clinic and haven't had an issue since.

^this solved it. finally took it apart and examined it and the roll pin seems to be almost nonexistant (paper thin, missing half, squashed) at one end. this causes the mag release to sit kindof cockeyed and that seems to be what was causing my problems. so theres nothing wrong with the gun at all, just seems whoever installed the roll pin at the factory sh*t the bed :D

any idea where i can get a replacement roll pin? the hole looks to be about 9/64"

Ya, that half existant pin really messes things up. I don't recollect what size the pin is, but just about everything round or threaded on those guns are metric. The pin we used at Spruce Grove was too long and I had to cut if off and dremel it a bit. If you are in a bind, I have some USGI M1A replacement roll pins. PM me if you want to give one of those a try.

I had to hit mine with a hammer to knock it lose it was just plain stuck. I found if you use 2 hands they come out fine 1 to push the lever in the other to pull foward and down then they come out fine. I tried diffren't mags same thing didn't matter which ones but it breaks in and gets easyier in time
