Just put 300 rounds of dirty MFS ammo , 9 mil through the new JR Carbine . Glock mags , no failures . Bushnell red dot on top and pop cans at 75 yards . I can scare 'em at 100 but the dot is too big and the ammo too sh*tty . One box of Remington UMC and the group sizes were about half at 50 yards compared to the MFS . About 2.500 inch groups at 50 with UMC and 4 inches with MFS . I don't know what size the red dot is but it covers a pop can at 75 yards . Good enough . I like it .

I think that would depend on the availability/cost of commercial ammunition. I've just could never seem to get that excited over the USC/UMP. Not sure why that is...
I know there are plans to bring out a redesigned Kriss in 9mm and .40S&W, but I have zero interest in that because they'll apparently be moving to a proprietary magazine at the same time. And that translates into "limited to 5 rounds" in Canada, because you can no longer use the Glock pistol magazines.
Just making sure here - you did made sure to look at the BRS-99 w/ the NR bbl right?

I got a micro dot. Bullet drop is severe after a hundred yards (especially in a 9mm flavour.)

The JR carbine looked interesting until I watched a video on how to disassemble it. Two screws? An allen key? A hammer? A tourque wrench???

If you're willing to spend the cash, you can get the .40 cal bolt for the UMP45, however that is by far the most expensive part of the entire gun. Expect to pay a good solid 1000 bucks trying to get one imported into Canada (i think they are 600 or so in the states, plus machine work for it to fit). then all you need is the barrel.
For the bolt machining to fit the USC45 body, it's got one of the guides a little taller, so it won't fit inside the USC without it.

No kidding. Some assembly (disassembly) required... just for cleaning. 2-4 push pins for the Kriss Super-V, comes apart in about 10 seconds.

I have a couple pistol caliber carbines.A Beretta CX4 and a Hi-Point 995TS. Both have been converted to non restricted. I believe that the 995 is the only one in Canada at present that is non restricted. Both shoot surprisingly well, however the Beretta is clearly a better built rifle. if I had to buy something else right now i'd pick up a sub 2000 or a JR... My 2c
