Did a trade for an SKS, bought a case of non corrosive, dropped it into a Tapco, mounted a peep sight and plastic fiber optic front site from HiCal. Took it out today and it is a blast. Shoots straight, didn't have to adjust sights at all.
 
I also joined the club on Saturday. $165 all cleaned up from a local shop in London Ontario. It's a nice looking laminate 54 Tula. I wont be changing a thing about it, it's too pretty in original condition!

I cleaned mine in by using a hair dryer on the metal parts over the sink. I'd run hot water over certain parts like the mag and then immediately dry them with the hair dryer. The metal gets hot, so I used a screw driver to hold them.

After that, I put all wood and metal parts out in the sun all day long, wiping them down from time to time. It helped that it was about 30 deg C as well.

Not the most orthodox method, but worked for me.
