I bought 520 rounds of Norinco Steel Cased 7.62 x 51mm from Canada ammo. out of 28 round I have had a falure to feed of at least 20 rounds. I shoot and the rifle will eject the round but not feed the next round. I have a wolff op rod spring and am wondering if this is the problem. I have the gas system cleaning kit from Saldak and so the gas system was clean when I was shooting. I have my gas system shimed about as perfect as it gets. It preforms the tilt test great, All the lube in the right places. This is a shorty 2009 polytech. NM op rod guide, poly gas system. It does have a dlask adjustable gas lock on it. the torques are all correct. Any ideas?
I would appriciate any info.
Thanks BH

If you load and fire one round, does the bolt lock back?

I am wondering if you are getting short recoils. Does the Dlask unit allow tailoring of the amount of gas that is available?

I bought the short M305 with a case of that same ammo. I've fired 80 rounds and have had zero failures of any kind.

Still have the original Norinco spring around?

Yes I still have the nork spring. I guess I'll have to put the cheap spring in and try it. Has anyone tried a USGI spring with sucess?

I have a chopped M305 (18.5") and it does the same thing with Norinco ammo. I had a case laying around from about 10 years ago, ended up shooting it out of friend's M305s and LMTs without issue. The rifle functions fine with MFS or any of the American brands.

i was having the same problem, i went to the range and the gun was having falure to feed issues, i changed mags and it didnt happen again. to narrow down the problem i tried the original mag and the feed issue was happening again. so im my case it was a mag issue, maybe yours is the same

I've experience the same failure to feed using my shorty/ Norc 7.62 surplus ammo. That's the only ammo I've fired through it and I have yet to isolate the problem as my sights are defective. Interested in other replies.

I had a couple of FTFs with mine in the first few rounds. I have the full length, everything standard. Mine appeared to be new mags sticking a bit - a few more rounds later and no problems. I'm guessing it could be mag follower sticking or rifle short-stroking. Ammo seemed fine.
