I bought a Ruger SR-22 and I find the stock to be too much in line with the barrel so that you have to hunch to see the natural placement of the scope... is there a stock available for this gun that angles it slightly downwards?

Thanks a bunch.

yeah, get a one inch riser, you can get them with three rails (top and sides), or just the single rail. you can probably get just rings that rise as well. but trying to use scope without is just ridiculous. (i know, cause i tried lol).

this is mine..i used an AR style carry handle to lift mine..i like it allot..when the gophers are close i just use the iron sites as the weaver rail allows see through ability. Works great

Like others are saying leave the stock alone and change your scope mount. Something like the Burris PEPR Proper Eye Position Ready one piece scope mount gives you rise and slightly forward scope position you need. Mystic Precision sponsor above keeps them in stock. I had one on my sr22 and 858

I appreciate that everyone tries to elleviate the problem by raising the sights... but this decreases accuracy greatly especially over a longer distance. In order to retain accuracy has anyone tried modifiying the stock to create a natural gun stock angle that is on most hunting rifles?

I am a pretty good gunsmith and so to keep accuracy I would rather the scope/sights be as close to the barrel as possible and alter slightly the angle of the stock. A simple welded joint similar to a hunting sock is all that is needed to ellleviate this problem.

Has anyone tried this??

Put your extension tube into a pipe bender and bend it a few degrees.

Not sure how much material you have to work with from the end of the threads and the bottom square of the tube.

Now that I have more rounds down the pipe I am actually getting quite used to the low profile of the sights and stock alignment. I currently have a red dot on low profile rings and have no problems comfortably getting the sight picture without having to raise the scope using risers or altering the stock. Mind you, it took a bit of handling and shooting to find a good position for the gun so I am comfortable and not straining my neck.

It's all good now and am happy to be able to mount my scope as flush to rail as possible so my ballistics are as flat as possible.
