I just got a Savage 93 a few days ago on my Birthday and now today what arrives in the mail? The CZ 550 LUX I ordered back in October 2011. The papers show the rifle completed its production on the 20th of April 2012 so the rifle is really new! Its kind of sticky right now. Some kind of thick sticky oil they put on the gun for shipping so i'm about to clean it off. Can't wait to try it out in a day or two.

My first impressions just from looking and holding it. The grip is really fat. Way fatter than a Savage 110, or a Remington 700. The fat grip feels nice and I even have small hands. The checkering is just beautiful. I had a picture of a CZ 550 and I thought that is what it will look like but it actually looks 5x better than what the picture is. The bolt is sticky right now. Gotta Ballistol it later. I like that the bolt automatically decocks its self when you open the bolt. The bottom magazine plate and the follower is plastic. Not a deal breaker for me since most guns now indays have lots of plastic on them. I love the set trigger!!!

Hey thanks. I had no idea what you would call that and now I do.

Looks good - what cartridge is it chambered for?
Kilo was almost right. Its a .270win.

Is that the one in Nanaimo? I was looking at that one. They have nother one in .243 with a detachable magazine.

One thing id like to point out that I think is kind of cool about the gun is all the proofing papers they have in the box. Before the gun is shipped for sale, It was proofed by 3 women in the warrenty department, 1 guy proofs the barrel, 1 guy proofs the receiver, and another guy proofs the rifle well he is test firing it for a total of 6 different people have checked and approved the gun. All of their signatures are in paper or in the warrenty book they give you with it. I guess its for them to know who to blame or fire if a ####ty gun gets sold. They also give you the owners manual and a CD that is a tutorial version of the owners manual. Showing you how to take the gun down, clean it, sight it, ex.

Very nice ,I tried to get bottom metal for mine about 2 yrs. ago.CZ-usa wouldnt ship to canada, and never had any luck with Canadian contacts. Free bottom metal wouldnt hurt.

CZ-USA can't ship to Canada. You have to ask CZUB in Czech Republic. All CZ firearms that come into Canada are imported from CZUB not CZ-USA.

CRAMF is the CZUB Warrenty Center for Canada. I have a friend in Czech Republic that is going to pick one up from the CZ store in Prauge and send it to me. He is also going to send me the scope rings since they're cheaper in Czech Republic than in Canada. To top that off he is also sending my another bottle of Becherovka (my favorite drink in the world), a leather sling, and another can of Ballistol.

cz= massively class act. my 452 FS is unbelievable, wish I had a place for a cz centerfire but it doesnt fit in my safe/life right now.

That being said I fondled a lux today when I saw they had one at the local shop. This is the finest piece Ive ever held. actually, second finest. :)

crazy how the stock is made to line up the sights I really cant get over it.
